If you're talking from a strictly legalistic standpoint...okay, I guess you can consider prostitutes girlfriends in the courtroom. But I've never considered 'girlfriend' and 'someone I have sex with' to be synonymous concepts. There are people I've had sex with because we were a wicked match in bed, but not a good match for anything more than a simple friendship outside that. I've had girlfriends that I've never had sex with simply because we were somewhat incompatible in bed.
