Be REALLY careful about lacquering that. I believe sharpie is lacquer-based and spraying itmight cause the sharpie to dissolve O_O
Be absolutely sure about it, whatever you do.

Potentially, although it might sort of be cheating, you could find some sort of ink or paint and very, very carefully using a fine tipped brush paint on top of the signings to permanentize them.

I'll go to some model shop and ask their advice, and test on a dozen different surfaces first.
My biggest question is how do I get the Lite home on the plane without rubbing it off?
