The whole Metroid movie concept makes me shudder.
They better not make Samus into a cross between Lara Croft and Boba Fett.

...but...she...is. Except that she's original when compard to Lara Croft, and just happens to be a bounty hunter like Fett. The one thing that will kill the movie is unlike the video games they can't really dwelve into exploration. That's what makes Metroid stand out when compared to a lot of games.

Well, I'm afraid it's not going to be that great. Movies based on video games tend to end up rather bad - the worst example is perhaps Wing Commander.

I have*edit*n't seen that movie since it came out on video, but, god, I can still remember the flamethrowers, the set up for a sequal, the Yoshi-ish thingie, I can still hear Luigi saying "Nothing's impossible."
This is the type of stuff that drives people to put a bullet in their fucking brain.
