Hell, if the Ass-end of Nowhere Tau can be furiously fumbled into forcing the Imperium into fortification rather than offensive reprisals, as they have done so with the most recent Tau wank, the Squiddies or the Nu-Bugs can.

hell, the Q'orl have already thieved Navigator brainz and proper warp drives.
I can't wait for GW to accidentally write the Imperium into an imminent defeat. Seriously, it'll be hilarious, and I bet it'll eventually happen.

Likely, there will be a Heraclius type character who will turn up.

Who cares what the other new race is? Valkyries. Thunderhawks. Lightnings. Marauders. Fighta-bommerz!

EDIT: And, of course, deth-koptaz.

I'm giggling with glee at the idea of another standalone Xpac. I'm wondering though - new engine? Updated engine? I'm pretty sure the Dark Crusade engine had a few graphical upgrades, but I'm hoping they rewrite the AI path finding. 'Twas a little crudy irrc.

Meh. There's a low-quality video of an in-game trailer up on youtube. It's Dawn of War with a slightly tweaked engine and a bunch of new races. And most likely THQ will follow their previously established pattern and make the ninth race Daemonhunters or Witch Hunters, since fans have already neared completion of work on those races.... I will not be buying this one.

The Imperium has been on the brink of defeat for the past ten years or so. It would just be writing another 'imminent defeat'.

I'm disappointed that they didn't use the CoH engine like I had been hoping so badly for.

oh god dow in the coh engine would make me cream my pants

But seriously, I always knew that would be too much to hope for. CoH is just so much better than its predecessor it isn't even funny (especially with OF now). DoW was like the RTS proof-of-concept for the real deal, CoH.

Wow. Sisters of battle have been the entire reason I started buying GW crap for 40k, and i learn here that absolutely no one but me, apparantly, wants to see them in a DoW game.

I feel so alone.

It's not so much that I don't want to see them in-game, it's that there are other factions within the Imperium that I'd rather see in their stead :D. Sisters of Battle strike as a bit of a Space Marines Lite, with boobs, more silly decorations and impractical vehicles. Could be my interpretation is wrong of course, but if it's between hovering thrones and Penitent Engines or Combat Servitors and the Legio Cybernetica, I'd have the latter.

Sisters Repentia, man. I'd die of joy to see them swathing through a DoW battlefield.

I don't know why the Sisters of battle struck such a chord with me, but it did. The flavor of the group just makes me writhe in joy. I had no interest in touching the 40k universe until a friend of mine handed me the witch hunters codex. I've since read Faith and Fire and built a bare-bones (though I haven't painted) sisters of battle army (i have to borrow paints).

You'd think that being the LAN admin at this school would let me circumvent the web filter they have installed. Alas, it shall be several hours before I can peruse whatever snippets of delightful information are contained in that link.

those are nice, though I kind of dislike the chest armor and fact that Sisters repentia seem to break in that those pics (acording the codex should they ever loose a moral check they run towards the enemy (basically go berserk)).

Apprently, via those mystical things known as "leaks" it's unofficially known that the 2nd faction will be the Sisters Of Bitches.

Ah well, the Cockney fellows need someone new to go shout at, I suppose

So for me, at least, it looks like a case of who does it better, the modders or the developer.

Knowing me, i'll end up using both versions.

hopefully we don't get "ooh I found a way to a show boobies" Repentia in the in developers version (it's kind of funny as none of the actual Renpentia miniatures show nipples as far as I can tell and it's not like Games Workshot would afraid to do so (just look at the Daemonets) if they wanted to.

EDIT:fixed a typo

Well, if we go via the Canon, that means we get the Tyranids, technically speaking

The Total War engine is kind of limited for very mobile warfare. Also, the scale will be a bit messed up.

I try not to get my hopes up, especially where 40K mods are concerned. 90% of the time they never see fruition and just waste away in the dismal nether-planes of Abandonware and Dead Mods because the developers try to be too ambitious and cram too many things into a v0.001 beta release, which of course is never actually released as everyone loses interest in the two years it takes to announce that work on the mod has run into a temporary delay because the only texture artist was swallowed whole by the interwebs, never to be seen again.

Anyways, more on-topic: Don't worry Joviwan, I <3 the Adepta Sororitas, and if this rumor is true I welcome their lovely witch-burning, heretic-chainswording ways.

For the record, they are so not Space Marines-lite with Boobs. 'Nuns with Guns' is the popular phrase used to describe them. They're the ultra-Catholic facet of WH40K (along with the Ordo Hereticus in general).

EDIT: In fact, I'm going to change my avatar, just to spite you Sister-haters. what it is now, dawgz
