Congratulations. Did you know her well and for a long time before you started going out?

Congratulations! OK, here's the advice list:
- You are always wrong. Even if you're right, you're wrong. Accept this and move on.
- Contrary to popular belief, the sex circus does not pack up after marriage. However, there does come a time when you have to learn that simply demanding it at regular intervals is counter-productive.
- Take all of the plans you've made for how you will live after children and how you will raise them, and please throw them in the garbage. Then, light them on fire. Because no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy.
- If you ever find some flaw in her behaviour as a wife, stop before you say something and ask yourself first whether you are the ideal husband. If the answer is no, then shut the fuck up.
That is all.

That sounds like some pretty good advice, even if I'm only 17 and not married.

Listen to Wong. He's been around this territory longer than you. Congratulations.

That's fabulous news, Malecoda! I wish you and your fiancee the best.
So, this is because I'm a romantic sop at heart, but was there an actual proposal that you made? It sort of sounds like it just happened, but on the chance that you really did say something amazingly sweet to her, please feel free to tell us all about it. I, for one, love to hear goopy romantic stuff like this.

I'm torn. On one hand, I want to make a smart ass remark on this,
on account of how Matt's treated me over the years, but that would
just be petty.....
I'll just say this:
"Good luck, man, hope it works out"

Wow. You're a drag.
Bad marriages are the embodyment of hell on earth.
I don't believe good marriages are possible.

So you've secured a mate to ensure the continuation of your genetic lines. Excellent news.

After 10 years Rebecca and I are closer than ever. Don't generalize.

No insult intended to you or your wife but the funny thing about beliefs is that they don't always have to be fully compliant with reality.

True, but this is not a belief. It's an observation. After 10 years, we've never had a major fight. We've never had a disagreement that we couldn't work out by talking about it. We still have sex regularly. She doesn't insult me, I don't insult her. What part of this situation strikes you as bad, since you believe there's no such thing as a good marriage? Are you suggesting that something is bound to go bad sooner or later? If so,
that would be a belief.

At this point I'm going to chicken out and STFU before I say something that gets someone (not necessarily you) severely pissed off for no constructive purpose.
