Nowadays, I discount a lot of pre-release hype; personal recommendations are actually more on target than 1,000s of fanwhores and flashy E3 videos.Stark wrote:Waiting for someone to say 'it's good' when it's been discussed all around the world for months seems bizarre.

I have the Quad core Q6600 processor and the same graphics card in my new machine, and I’ve found that the benchmark is just a benchmark; it doesn’t seem to be intended as a realistic measure of the games requirements. I had the benchmark dropping down to as little as 21fps on max settings, and yet when I play the game on max settings it never feels like it slows down more then slightly. I suggest you put setting to maximum and see how the game actually runs.MKSheppard wrote: I have to turn down some settings to get an acceptable average of 40 FPS in the benchmark with a Quad Core computer and a GeForce 8800 GTS 600~ MB card.
Still, this is the only game I’ve yet played that actually heats up my card and makes it use its maximum fan speed in bursts. Bioshock doesn’t even come close. Games like BF2 or Far Cry don’t even raise it above ambient.
BTW, the default fan settings on the 8800 GTS make the thing run hot as shit, and the only way I found they could be adjusted was by installing Rivatuner, which lets you create a custom profile of core temp vs. fan speed settings.

The designers need to be beat with a stick tho. Too many levels depend on "capture two widely separated areas!", and due to the system used in WiC, this effectively means having to control four or six different points.

Are there any good MP Servers? I hate just getting into the thick of things, and then the level ending with 15:00 on the clock. I want towns to be pounded into dust from massive firepower.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
