Just before anybody gets confused, Sushi is just rice with stuff on it wrapped by Nori (Seaweed). If you're thinking raw fish, thats sashimi.

sure, but the entire western world thinks raw fish when you say sushi. so i assume that the topic wer´re discussing is sashimi while we´re calling it sushi.

I only had it once but I would like to tr more of it but where I'm living my guess is that the nearest Sushi joint is some 2,550 klicks from where I am

Japanese cuisine never did it for me.
And as Stormbringer said, I prefer my food quite cooked, too.

Hmmm, depeding on exactly which one we are talking about. I like neither the sushi or the sashimi. Seaweed is worse than walking outside and grazing on my front yard. Plain rice leaves something to be desired and the raw fish tastes worse than the seaweed.

The squid someone mentioned is good though, especialy in yaka-soba.
