I heard about this awhile ago.
I do feel mad at here but not enraged. She was, afterall 74 and from the article i read about this, she seemed genually torn up about it.

My grandmother certainly seemed to be losing it during her last decade of life, but I'm not sure if she was senile. Is it really so bad that someone could think a dog wouldn't be hurt by being dragged behind a car?Howedar wrote:Have you ever had contact with a senile person?Captain Kruger wrote:Riiiight…she wouldn't have noticed. Quite possibly early stages of Alzheimer's disease. It has effects similar to that.Captain Kruger wrote:My grandmother certainly seemed to be losing it during her last decade of life, but I'm not sure if she was senile. And they should be punished.Sonnenburg wrote:I hate to make anybody feel worse, but these kinds of accidents are more common than you think. I even babysat for somebody who did it. Last week a guy kept his three-year-old in the back seat of the car in sub-zero temperatures while he went to play the slots in a casino. Dozens of kids and pets die of heat exhaustion being left in cars during the summer. When you leave morons in charge of the lives of others, you're going to be dealing with people who don't deserve the responsibility.

What the fuck? don´t you know the meaning of the word "senile"?Captain Kruger wrote:Riiiight…she wouldn't have noticed. Please.salm wrote:74 folkes, she was seventy fooooooooooouurr!!!

my grandfather fucking forgot my name. after telling him what it is, he´d call me differently ten minutes later again. and that wasn´t alzheimer, that was senility.

Yeah, normal degradation of the human brain. It happens at different stages, at different times, and in different stages of severity in different people. Take my grandfather for instance, he is 82 and sharp as a tack. Then my great aunt, who is 95, but, while still sharp, is really showing signs of senility. And then again, I know people who are 75, and are still bright, but very senile. I would not put this past a senile person, they just don't realize that the dog won't follow, that or they 'quasi-forget' that a dog is behind the car.
Trust me, this could easily be because of senility. I feel sorry for the woman. I mean, i also feel sorry for the dog, but the old lady most likely didn't realize what she was doing.

Then she should be in a home. How can a fucking senile person be trusted with a goddamned automobile? An automobile is a potentially deadly weapon!NF_Utvol wrote:Trust me, this could easily be because of senility. I feel sorry for the woman. She definitely shouldn't be driving. But it doesn't surprise me that she is. The US lets its elderly citizens have driver's licenses until the day they drop dead or until the day they kill somebody because of their degraded driving skills. I used to work for an auto insurance company and have seen this too many times. Makes me sick.
