Mortal Kombat is the absolute bottom of the barrel for fighting game franchises, they have shitty fight mechanics and rubbish characters.

Pfft. Mortal Kombat is fucking awesome. I don't know how anyone can rag on Mortal Kombat for having rubbish characters - frankly I'm surprised no one ever seems to complain about how fucking cheap and unimaginative Street Fighter 2 was with the Ken & Ryu identical-in-every-way-douchebag twins, yet somehow these lame carbon copies are supposed to be iconic symbols of awesome.

Fuck Street Fighter and all it's sequels. Yeah, I said it. It had to be said. Ryu's a fucking pussy, and Sub Zero is way cooler than him. Pun intended. I've never played Street Fighter for fun. Ever. Every franchise, literally, is better than it.

I thought Mortal Kombat had a couple good ideas around the time of Deadly Alliance and Deception, like killing off Liu Kang and introducing a new hero, Shujinko. Unfortuantely they didn't really push as far as they could have, so the new ground broken fell apart quickly. All the "Dead" characters just kept coming back and half of Shujinko's story turned out to be the back scenes behind all the games we've played already. Then they failed to build on their new foundation and ditched Shujinko (a shame) for a different new hero in Armaggeddon, which was probably the lames installment in the entire series.

And you have no problem with the fact that up to MK4 every single character was identical with only two or three special moves to differentiate them, and it's barely been better since?

Also, at least Ken and Ryu are visually distinct, not just infinite pallette swaps.

Nope - especially as the special moves were more natural to perform, as opposed to Street Fighter's utterly retarded special move mechanics. And of course, Mortal Kombat has grown up a lot since then, rather than coasting and never changing anything.

The end boss for the MK characters can be Superman.

I was thinking that it was Scorpion in funny lighting because of the all-white eye effect, but on the other hand they gave it to Batman too, but then Batman is often depicted that way. I dunno, I just like the picture.

Mortal Kombat 2 was the pinnacle of the series that they only had a glimmer of the same fun in the PS2 game with Deadly Alliance.

I dunno which games you remember but dial a combo number 3 that went on for nearly as many SF2 titles there were or are you think SF2 was the only game to have 14 fucking bullshit reduxes? Shitty 3D number 4 that actually they had another couple "upgrades" as well? At least the console exclusive were just ONE itineration. So please, let's not think MK was anything but a blood porn game that had shitty controls and a shittier combat system. And let's try to remember that beyond a select group of characters the whole of MK was "Look another retard that makes less and less sense.". At least SF had the deceny not to copy Ryu eight times, color him differently and proclaim behold a new player in the arena!!!

I can understand enjoying a franchise, but thinking it doesn't as many if not more flaws then SF is fucking being blind to the sheer shit we've experienced over the last 10+ years.

If by "DC," they mean more than just Batman, are the MK'ers bringing kryponite to the table? The main Justice League types, like Superman, Flash, Martian Manhanter, Green Lantern, WW, etc., would smoke the tards from Mortal Kombat without breaking a nail. I'm guessing they're going to do like usual and scale the DC'ers power levels down.

Both sides will be equal because having Superman kill each of them from orbit....is too geeky. But Scorpion breathing fire on Wonder Woman is serious business .
