I'd be interested in The Force Unleashed, and maybe Street Fighter IV, since I've always really enjoyed the SF games. Spore... eh, maybe. I would be looking forward to Fallout 3, but for one it won't be released here, and even though I was very positive and ignored all the NMA crap about it... yeah, it doesn't sound a goddamn thing like Fallout. It may turn out to be a fairly entertaining game, but it doesn't look or sound much like Fallout in many respects.

Only things I'm too terribly interested in right now are the unnamed Halo project, Halo Wars, and Project Origin.

Ace's opinion on Pre-E3 media:
The Red Alert 3 trailer is completly by the numbers. A basic unit showcase for the new third faction. Highlights include kickass units, the exact same gameplay from the 90s and a new mix of Hellmarch.
The Call of Duty 5 trailer is even more by the numbers. Same graphics as Call of Duty 4, more scripted scenes. Some battle setups look cool, but it looks like the exact same gameplay. "Find enemy pocket, exchange fire untill you find the trigger to move on."
EndWar is predictably cool. If they can pull off the voice activated stuff then it will be one of the better RTSses of the year. The user interface seems pretty usable from a console prespective, but will involve alot of scrolling. Probably expect alot of use from up-down buttons to see what units you can buy. Theres the basic unit types, not alot of customising stuff, predictable considering the console UI.
The graphics are pretty kickass. Voice activation seems to be reliant on you saying "artillary attack target 13", atleast going from the UI. Expect alot of 'smart AI' for moving around, but alot of microing. Each unit seems to be pretty intelligient on it's own, but needs directions on where to go. Unlike CoH and WiC, you do not need to order units to use their specials.
Theres a guy going "he's bringing down a level three airstrike...a LEVEL THREE airstrike". Neat game.

Shit, I totally forgot about Tiberium and RE 5, too. I'm really hoping Tiberium lives up to the rest of the franchise thus far, though I'm still remembering the specter of Renegade. Renegade was fun yet far too by-the-numbers, but Tiberium looks like it will be a whole lot cooler.

They're showing off Fallout 3 combat here...
COMPLETE. Utter. SUCK.
The animation is horrible. The graphics seem low res on the people. The combat mechanics don't work smoothly. He's showing off FatMan or whatever that is... and atleast a pretty explosion. They showed NOTHING except combat.
EDIT: Downloadable content exclusive content for the xbox360 AND the PC. RE5 coming up now.
The RE5 is cool. It looks pretty good, character textures kick ass. Other stuff is abit bland. It's set in Africa. Abit of shit about the story. Combat looks fun. Online Co-Op mode! Doesn't look half bad.
Fable:
Fable looks alot more awesome, but then again, it's a pre-rendered CGI trailer. Which is totally beautiful, but CGI.
Now gameplay. Looks awesome. Better than oblivion. Neat dog AI.
Co-op over live seems to be the trend. More fable hyping.
Missed the start of GoW, looks like more awesome CQB action. Esspecially with the flamethrower. Destructable terrain, totally scripted.
Xbox Live: More movies, more crap. More HD movies. Good for those who can access it.
Fall xbox update: Totally new dashboard. MS version of Mii's, Avatars. Better detail, just as easy to customise. What usage model though... Oh right, in game. Same way the Mii's were used in game?
Xbox Live...they're actually going to do LiveTV. The MS 'holy grail' of web usage.
New Geometry Wars. Looks to be the same, but what do I know? If I ever get an Xbox360, I predict more of my time to be spent there than anywhere else.
Portal Expansion. No words on console exclusive or what.
Hotfoot says Xbox360 exclusive. I say lame.
Netflix partnership, basically, you have access to all the Netflix library. This should be a big deal to Americans.
Some odd game running, looks like a childrens game that could actually be fun. Forget I ever said that.
New Viva Pinata, I have to say I like the art style, I have no idea what the gameplay is there... Oh there, EyeToy style use of the Xbox360 webcam. Play cards.
Trivia games...
And a movie making game that is basically the Wii WarioWare games except using the webcam rather then using the wiimote. You need to use the entire body. Smart webcam work.
If it scales to four people, it could be fun. Now it turns a movie. Looks amusing for the people. And then there's a directors mode for this stuff. Xbox Live Vision camera bundled.
MS is in love with it self and proving that yes, Xbox Live is doing better than whatever the Playstation equivilent name is.
Guitar Hero World Tour: [feed died], Van Helen, Eagles, Metallica. Wow, the guy doing the heavy metal sign SUCKED. Album, Death Magentic, downloadable into Guitar Hero 3/World Tour the moment it's really out in stores.
Lips, Karoke. It syncs into your music player (zune, Ipod), and you sing along.
...Rock Band 2. Xbox360 Premire. If I heard him right. Unholy awesome. Something like a list of 100 songs. Master recordings. Guns and Roses. Oh, premire. AC DC "Let there be Rock", Dylan. Metallica, Pearl Jab. And more people. 500 songs including RB1 and DLC.
Square Enix...Listing off games they've made for the platform. Infinite Discovery, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, The Last Remnant.
FF13...is now on the Xbox360. There goes anoter huge Sony exclusive. The developer is basically saying "We believe releasing an xbox 360 version of final fantasy 13 will makes us FUCKING LOTS OF MONEY"
the guy just did a fuck you to sony and nintendo "we have nearly all the exclusives"

Yeah, it'll get released on the other systems later.
Unholy awesome. Something like a list of 100 songs. Master recordings.
83 on disc, 20 will be available for download for FREE on launch day.
Guns and Roses.
Not just GNR, but GNR from Chinese Democracy, which hasn't even been released yet.
AC DC "Let there be Rock", Dylan. Metallica, Pearl Jab

I think the only possible announcement that could make this more awesome is if an MGS4 port were announced for the 360.

I, at least, am quite curious to see what its going to be. Besides, we'll probably get a name to go with it, eliminating the need for usage of the increasingly-wearing "unnamed" designation.
Nope, nothing about Halo was even mentioned.

WTF is this WiiMotionPlus.
E3 '08: WiiMotionPlus 'precision' add-on intro'd
Nintendo unveils new accessory for Wii Remote which will provide "more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation."
By Tor Thorsen, GameSpot
Posted Jul 14, 2008 8:02 pm EET
LOS ANGELES--As the latest NPD sales figures show, the Wii is by far and away the most popular console in North America. However, that doesn't mean the platform is immune from criticism. One sore spot with many is the Wii Remote controller, which translates real-world motion into in-game action. Though revolutionary, the Remote has been accused of not being as precise as other systems' controllers or the venerable-but-surgical keyboard and mouse.
Though it's never admitted any problems with the Wii Remote, today Nintendo announced a new peripheral designed to enhance its "precision." Called the Wii MotionPlus, the add-on (pictured) snaps into the base of the Wii Remote, much like Nyko's litigiously challenged wireless Nunchuck attachment.
According to Nintendo, the Wii MotionPlus "allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation" making "every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm...rendered identically in real time on the screen."
Nintendo gave no reason as to why the Wii Remote would need fine-tuning, nor did it offer any details about the Wii MotionPlus' price or launch date. The company did promise more details at tomorrow's E3 Media & Business Summit press event, which GameSpot will be streaming and live-blogging starting at 9 a.m. PDT.

Funny that you should say that
Article/announcement wrote:Nintendo 19s upcoming Wii MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player 19s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion.
Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play.
The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo 19s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.
You know,
it 19s almost like Nintendo expected there to be another motion-controller announcement today that they wanted to spoil. Oh, and what game do you bet this Wii add-on comes with? A 1CZelda 1D with
more accurate sword-swinging?
Excuse me, i'm afriad that my nergasm just ripped a hole through my pants.
I have been dreaming of this since I was 8 (first playing Mario 64).

Final Fantasy XIII is going to 360.
I repeat, FF XIII is going to 360. It is no longer a PS3 exclusive.
Hopefully, that means that Sony will exit the gaming market, but I doubt it since the PSP is still profitable.

Not just that, but it's a simultaneous release as well, whereas the other big name game Square-Enix have on the HD consoles, Star Ocean 4, is 360 exclusive for the forseeable future. (That may be residual spite from tri-Ace to Sony for providing duff libraries for Star Ocean 3 though).

Please. I'm hardly a fan of Sony's moves during this generation of consoles, but there's no way they're going to leave this market. They're going to have to go back to the drawing board, sure, but leave? Hah, yeah, sure.

Don't forget Sony still has MGS...but that's hopefully a dead franchise if they keep their word. I remind you guys that brand loyalty is still in play and probably more copies will be sold on the PS3 than 360, but thats already less then if it was an exclusive. The image of Stringer throwing away some coffee mug when he saw that trailer probably exists somewhere.
The WiiMotionPlus thing... It could be for the light saber thing, but I doubt any single game makes Nintendo do anything. You could do the sword stuff with the relative controller. This seems to be basically "Instead of relative movement, we now have an accurate grasp of where the remote is compared to the screen." Which is not a huge improvement for most games.

I said that.
I am cautiously optimistic, though: they've lost $3 billion on PS3 alone. If they didn't have PSP and PS2, still, then I think they'd be in real trouble.
I just want either MS or Sony to leave the market, but since MS's now clearly playing for keeps I'm hoping that it's Sony, but I don't think it'll happen.

Why have either leave the market? What purpose does that serve? Last I checked, competition was good for the consumer. Remove direct competition, and what do you think is going to happen? Things get more expensive, less fun, and shittier overall. Oh yeah, that's AWESOME.

If a company isn't turning a profit with its product, it's not being very competitive. If anything I'd expect Sony to wind up going the way of Sega after the Dreamcast debacle.

Bitch please. Sony's got a lot more behind it than Sega did. Like Microsoft, they can keep gaming afloat a bit longer, and all they REALLY have to do is some damage control for the PS3 and start planning the PS4 NOW because the thing that hurt them the most this time around, and the reason Microsoft was able to get the upper hand on them is that they weren't READY for this generation. They scrambled to try and keep up and it fucking hurt them. If they can learn from their mistakes, there's no reason we won't see a PS4 for the next generation, and there's no reason they won't reaffirm their position in the market.
Again, what point is served by removing competition? What POSSIBLE benefit might we, the consumer, gain from the downsides of stagnated development, higher prices, and monopolizing control?
