Ditto. From the series, Yesterday's Enterprise was... the... best. Period.
It was, I think, the only TNG battle that moved me in any way, shape or form. Including TNG movies, Nemesis was the most gratifying for no better reason than,... THEY FIRED MORE THAN ONE PHASER AT A TIME!!!
I think i've seen some ships in DS9 using more than one phaser bank.
But the best TNG space battle is... Nemesis. The battle was the only good part of the movie.

Which is an exaggeration since we've only had a chance to see the tactics and command style of less than 1% of the commanders in Starfleet unless you want to try and analyze the actions of all the misc. ships in DS9 that had screen time measured in the seconds. :P
So you're telling me the huge capship battles in DS9 had any tactical plan in them aside from a nice 18th century "line up our broadsides and we'll fire until one of us is dead"? Until today Maxwell remains the only one who onscreen was able to use his ship and the weaknesses of his enemies in his favour.

the best. The future version of the E-E blows the shit out of those Klingon ships.

The battle from Yesterday's Enterprise was good too.

Hmm, funny that both of those battles may not have actually happened in TNG chronology. :?
Actually is was a heavily refitted Enterprise D. but it was still cool seeing it waste those Kilingon cruisers.
I too will have to say Yesterdays Enterprise because of the great speech and fighting to the death thing.

Some of the stuff in "Redemption" was pretty good.

I always liked the Nebula scene from STII. Just two ships, both damaged, in a fight to the finish. It was so atmospheric and tense. You can't get that with a giant space war.

Although that isn't TNG, I must concur. It was a very "personal" battle, even though the two opponents never saw each other in person.

One of the best (visually) I thought was the one in Nemesis.

Despite the rest of the movie's weaknesses, it actually went on for awhile and seemed cool.

Though, I will admit freely that I've only just started watching season 5 of DS9 and season 3 of Voyager, so if there's something much better than this ahead, I haven't had the pleasure of discovering it yet. ; )

The bigger ship battles in First Contact were definately cooler, but far too short.

So sue me. ; )

D'oh! Man those typos :x :) Of course I meant Enterprise-D.

"Yesterday's Enterprise" is what pops into my mind. Even the darker colors and dim lighting of the alternate ship did a lot to make it feel "cooler".

Many of you mentioned "Best of Both Worlds" , Im drawing a blank. What episode was that?

It's the two part episode where the Borg nab and assimilate Picard and then stomp the shit out of a Federation fleet at Wolf 359. You don't actually see that battle but a lot of people like it because of what the aftermath implies.

There is also a pretty good battle between the Borg cube and the Enterprise where they actually make combat use of saucer separation.

Yeah, this battle is also eluded to (Sisko's part in it at least) in the pilot for DS9.
