I'm somewhat skeptical that Tarkin's authority would extent to allowing him to actually go and destroy major Core worlds. That would be ascribing to much authority to him, especially since more established Imperial notables like Baron Tagge and other Corewards based aristocrats would not take kindly to a Grand Moff being given what is essentially the free ranging authority of a Grand Admiral.

aye, knowing how calculating and controlling the Emperor is, I'm also skeptical that he wouldn't order the destruction of Alderaan himself.

Tarkin acted out of his own authority as commander of the Death Star to destroy Alderaan. He did so without the Emperor's knowledge, as indicated by Vader's protestation in the radio dramatization that "the Emperor should be consulted." Tarkin summarily steamrolls Vader's objections and goes ahead with his plans without bothering to inform Palpatine.

So how long until we get to hear stormtroopers speaking in mando'a and sexy kiwi accents?

Oh, hey, and despite the fact that Star Destroyers canonically carry 9,700 stormtroopers each and that there are thousands of Star Destroyers, Traviss will graciously correct our follies and inform us that the Empire has only three million stormtroopers, which is more than sufficient to take down rebels and pirates all over the galaxy, because they're just that badass.

which is works out to about 516 star destroyer if all three million stormtroopers are on board. Please, even using the minimalist numbers of Coruscant's one trillion population that works out to be more than 5 million people per one storm trooper. did this lady even watch the same movie?

There are still people who believe that Coruscant has only 10s or hundreds of billions at most and its relatively unique in the SWU.

Why does it feel like that some writers that do these shit books either take very little time to reaserch the overall stats, decide to take established characters and change them to fit their story with no regards as to why this change occurs , or they are actually sabotaging the EU.

I would assume that it's because of simple laziness, without much care for making the story technically accurate.

In Traviss's case, however, she actively subverts the EU to make her own "Fair And Balanced" (TM) views heard. The Jedi are evil and elitist and the Mandalorians are the true good guys. . .

It is beyond laziness, it is wilful sabotage.

Now she has the chance to wreak havoc across the entire SW time line. For me at least she has become death, destroyer of Star Wars.

^ Why would they hire her for any continuity-based projects when she frankly admits she doesn't give two shits about it?

All wars will be retconned into one spec-op affair after another. Be happy if we get one conflict that involves troops in the billions, combined. :P

We can only hope.

Well Considering the Great Hyperspace War was fought with spears and axes, I am sure she will portray the Unification Wars as a battle between just a few hundred guys using sticks and stones as their primary weapons.

And I'm out. Hiring someone who brags of not doing research to do a research project... yeah I'm done.

Jesus H. Christ!

What is it with those twits at LFL? Has Lucas ordered them to wreck the EU deliberately since NJO?
