Daredevil, on the other hand ... well, let's just say there's a reason Daredevil comics never sold as well as Spiderman comics.
I much prefer DD over Spider-Man. I agree that Spider-Man is a better concept, but over the years, DD has just been realized better (not to say that Spidey hasn't been done well). DD would be the best hero ever if
only for Miller's work, but there happen to be many great DD stories beyond Miller's. The current run of DD has only had maybe one mediocre issue, with the rest kicking major fucking ass.
Spider-Man, on the other hand, is slowly getting better from the absolute shit that his titles were during the bulk of the nineties.
The DD movie was good if you like DD. If you don't, then I'm not surprised if you don't like the movie. It's like when critics complain about Star Wars, but then you find out that they don't like sci-fi in the first place. If you do like DD, or probably comics in general, you'll enjoy the movie.
Spider-Man was by far a better movie, and it is rightly considered the greatest superhero movie yet, edging out the first Burton Batman and the first Christopher Reeve Superman. But DD is still good, if you like superhero movies. Best of all, like the X-Men movie, it sets up for sequels that are even better than the first one.
I think the real problem with making a DD movie is that it's almost impossible to work Stick and The Hand into the first movie without making it too long. But without them, DD's story is weaker.

You didnt like Spiderman either? Is there any comic book adaptation movie you DO like?

I'll go see it, and probably will like it.
My problem with the movie is merging of all the plotlines they are trying so we can have some Elektra/Bullseye/DD conflict.
Hopefully it turns out better that I'm thinking.
As for my choices...I've enjoyed DD, but in the recent years...without Fisk he's lost a bit of something...Spiderman on the other hadn went into the freakin crapper in the 90's and is recovering....slowly.

What about somebody like Paul Wight?

I'm going to see it in a little more than an hour, so I'll weigh in when I get back.
And Paul Wight, quite frankly, is TOO big to play Fisk, I think.

The acting is bad, the fight scenes are dark and inpersonal, and dull.
The plot is simply tacked on, and the supervillain is moronic.
Out of ten: 3.1
If you were going to see this movie, don't waste any time with it.
It just sucks.
Thanks for the heads-up ... won't waste my time or money on it.

In all honesty I dont think you should judge a movie by one persons opinion on it. If I say Star Trek Nemesis was complete and utter shite (which to me it was) then there may well be someone who liked it. Judging your actions on one persons opinions seems a bit...well...naive.

The movie was good. There were not any problems with the acting that I noticed. The action scenes were good, if a bit short, and a couple times it was obvious CG was being used. The villains were very cool.
9/10.

Well, I went, I watched, I enjoyed. It was remarkably faithfull to the comics (pbarring the Wilson Fisk Black/White issue already touched on), and had decent comedy for such a dark premised film. Ben Affleck is great as DD, but unfortunately not so good as Matt Murdock. As a Superhero film it was good.
Bad points : Well Afleck can't act and without the costume and mask to hide him, he's an irrating screen prescence. Thankfully there's more DD than Matt Murdock so Yay.
Foggy Nelson and Ben Ulrich were massively underused Characters, they should have had more development.
All that, and the spoilers below aside, i thoroughly enjoyed the film and hope it's a good springboard for an even better one in the future. If you like dark films with action and humour, check it out.

Bullets! SMG and Pistol rounds are sub-sonic in speed, but only just, there's no way to "see" them coming towards you with sound alone in sufficient time to avoid them. nitpicking I know, but it irked me.
Rifle Rounds are Supersonic, he'd have been hit before he heard it coming!
DD is not Superhuman; All his extra-ability does is brig him on par, or slightly over par, with normal people with regards to knowing his surroundings. He cannot leap 50 ft into the air, he can't survive amssive falls and he certainly can't run as fast as Electra's Limo! Yes he is gynastic, but they went way over the top.

Roger that, but his wasn't the first bad review I heard. Besides, it'll be out on video in six months, and my wife and I have surround-sound...

Is that sensing stuff coming at him solely based on sound, or is it also the movement of the air like in the comics?

They played up the sound aspect a lot. The whole sensitive skin thing didn't really get much play in how he saw the world. Shame as it would have been a nice touch.

I thought in the comics that DD actually had a raidar sense in addition to all his other hightened senses.
It sounds like they may have cut that out of the film for not being "real" enough.

Well, they made his radar sense a sonar sense instead, from what I can tell.
I liked the movie. Not as much as I enjoyed the Blade flicks, X-Men, or Spider-Man, but I still liked it.
I also think Affleck is better than some people give him credit for.

It was more a sound thing, and there were instances where they weren't consistant in it. But it was well done none the less.

As DD himself, he was excellent, but as Matt Murdock he was so wooden and flat I was amazed he was ever picked.
