Actually Spanky, unless you're a mod you do have to have +2000 posts or a really damn good reason why.

Yes, but it is also considered one's title in the military. You may be thinking of a position title, such as, "Company Commander," or "Platoon Sergeant." Both rank and position have titles.

AFIAK there is no hard-and-fast rule on awarding titles on the basis of post count. People who have made a substantial contribution to the board or the site are entitled to a title The point at which an oversized post count turns into a 'substantial contribution' is rather fuzzy and is entirely up to Wong.

Getting a title on the basis of post count is by no means automatic. The only people on the board at present who get titles automatically are supermods, main-fourm mods and usergroup leaders.

Yoshi: I got mine right after I hit 1500. I started a poll with a number of options, and ended up changing my mind about what I wanted.

My title was originally going to be "Government sp00k"... But some people liked "Third Children", even saying it sounded mysterious, so I decided on that.

But "Third Children" sounds like you have multiple-personality disorder.

And the truly desperate for a title can go to prison and become known as "ho'", "bitch" or "punk", but that's a bit extreme for a custom title...
