Well, of course Canada would have a law to help protect EMTs, patients, and the public at large. :P Down here, there's just a tiny bit of cognitive dissonance on the subject.

I'm fairly sure that New York has similar laws - at least, that was the impression I got from my Driver's Ed classes.
