Yes precious, and I don't think those people are going to stop just because CA are treating their market like shit; they don't care.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

ETW is the fastest selling game by CA to date. That flies right in the face of your argument that these people bought it out of brand loyalty.Stark wrote:Yes precious, and I don't think those people are going to stop just because CA are treating their market like shit; they don't care.
Correct. Now, your evidence for that is.....where, exactly? CA sales have generally risen with the release of each new game suggests that CA is expanding their customer base. Which means that they not only retain their market share, they expand it.Stark wrote:Do you have a problem? Mike posed the question of how long CA is going to get away with this, and I suggested that people with brains have already stopped buying CA games, and only those hugely into it are still doing so.
It does, because otherwise people with brains would not have continued to buy their products. The idea that the market is expanding as their games look less like shit and they spend more on marketing doesn't affect this AT ALL.
Grand Theft Auto IV, Tomb Raider Underworld, Red Alert 3, The Sims 3 all beg to differ. They were all released within 1-3 months distance.I mean holy shit, ETW was almost the only PC game release of note for months,
....and this is more valid than my hypotheosis how? Your evidence, kind sir, is where?and received the biggest marketing push since the last WoW expansion, AND was available over impulse-buy digital distribution mechanisms. Shit, I wonder why more people bought it? Could it be that most consumers are stupid, and stupid people are unlikely to vote with their wallet by not buying a game by a studio full of idiots who have made the same shit game for a decade, failing in new and interesting ways every time and now making expansions full games?
Shit yeah I better not express an opinion about a complex market issue without evidence hey? LOLThanas wrote:Correct. Now, your evidence for that is.....where, exactly? Not seeing how this is relevant to a market where most people DON'T have brains / are rational informed consumers. It does, because otherwise people with brains would not have continued to buy their products.
LOL RA3 is the only even comparable title and is dramatically different. So what? Hugely marketed strategy game in known franchise does well = evidence for smart consumers ready to cut and run when CA gets even more stupid, low quality and money grubbing... somehow?Grand Theft Auto IV, Tomb Raider Underworld, Red Alert 3, The Sims 3 all beg to differ. They were all released within 1-3 months distance.
Oh sorry, I didn't realise 'it sold a lot' was evidence for 'people with brains still buying it'. You'll have to connect those dots for me, chief.....and this is more valid than my hypotheosis how? Your evidence, kind sir, is where?
When CA has constantly been expanding their customer base, that meanst that they didn't exactly lose their core audience in the first place. Not when repeating yourself over and over again without a single shred of evidence to back up your opinion.Stark wrote:Shit yeah I better not express an opinion about a complex market issue without evidence hey? Which is applicable to all other markets as well. Not seeing how this is relevant to a market where most people DON'T have brains / are rational informed consumers. It does, because otherwise people with brains would not have continued to buy their products.
No, but neither does it prove your point exactly.LOL RA3 is the only even comparable title and is dramatically different. So what?
