Links to the results? I'm curious which precincts have already reported. Have the urban areas been tallied yet? Portland and Bangor should be more heavily on the "No" side.

Re: Maine: Question 1, Prop 8 part 2 (And WA's R-71)
There's nothing precinct-by-precinct, but urban areas almost always tally and report later. A close run now is a good sign for No.
Re: Maine: Question 1, Prop 8 part 2 (And WA's R-71)
Some of the urban areas have already reported- a lot of Portland. It's not looking too good :\

Re: Maine: Question 1, Prop 8 part 2 (And WA's R-71)
Open Left's numbers are unsourced garbage from the inside of the campaign. I don't know why they'd lie, but the statements of wildly huge marriage equality wins aren't matching reality at all.
Re: Maine: Question 1, Prop 8 part 2 (And WA's R-71)
32% in. We're UP by 327 votes (0.1%)
EDIT- Stupid No/Yes confusion.
Nate Silver: "Not sure it looks too good for gay marriage in Maine. Cumberland County, the most liberal in the state, is way overrepresented so far."

Re: Maine: Question 1, Prop 8 part 2 (And WA's R-71)
Yes leads by less than one one hundredth right now- 37 votes in a ballot of 100,000 plus on each side. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of the No on 1 and Yes on 1 campaigns. Every single person across the country who cares either way is probably busy hyperventilating.

I can't get it to update from 28% in for some reason.
Washington results are scheduled to start going up here in about 10 minutes.

Bangor Daily News' rundowns have crashed due to server strain, I'm using the NYT. It's still completely a dead heat. This is probably bad for us since every podunk little rural town chips away whereas we get only a few huge gluts.

I hate these campaigns where I'm not sure which positions "Yes" and "No" stand for. I can't help but think that others get confused as well.

I am too much of a pessimist on this. Everywhere were Gay Marriage has been ut to the vote, it Losses, largely because either people are stupid or they dont know how to vot. Im willing to bet there will be a great deal of people in "Support' of gay marriage who accidently vote to have it repealed.
Praying is another way of doing nothing helpful

Yeah, but that's all rural counties and Spokane. Nothing from the Seattle area.Darth Wong wrote:Looks like green is getting its ass kicked so far.The Defenestrator wrote:A more detailed Washington State results map for R-71

It is annoying. In Maine, "No" are the good guys.Darth Wong wrote:I hate these campaigns where I'm not sure which positions "Yes" and "No" stand for. I can't help but think that others get confused as well.
I'm worreid enough that my head is starting to act up and it's itnverfering with my typing. I'll probably stop updating. This type of a close loss is too painful to watch, and I'm starting to get sick to my stomach over it.
Bigots are up by thousands of votes now. They're going to win unless a few kilovoters are pulled out of a hat, possibly in washington too.
Re: Maine: Question 1, Prop 8 part 2 (And WA's R-71)
Gay marriage is completely tanking now that rural isolated community numbers are going in- they've shot up to a 10,000 vote lead. What is wrong with america?
