I'd have a big one, about 10,000 meters long. That would be enough to hold the dropship, amusement park, concert hall, space for 100,000 guests, and the LogicRay system (Capable of turning an entire planetary population into rational thinkers) that I've always wanted.

Big enough on the inside to keep all my crap in there, so with my uber-light-speed or whatever, I can zip commute to work here in Maryland while living comfortably in my lovely apartment in Tasmania.

As for how it would look to the general populus, I think I'd make it look like an old, beat-up lime green VW bug. That way no one would try to steal it. :D

Small for me 6 meters or less.

Small.

Being large may be psychologically intimidating, but you already stated that the size itself does not change the firepower. A tiny ship with the ability to blow up galaxies on whim while flying through a black hole would still be as intimidating. Besides, there are times in which you don't want to appear intimidating, it would be easier with a small ship than a larger ship. In addition, for a smaller-type of ship you could pilot it like a fighter, which would be fun.

If it's some extradimensoional ship thing like the famous TARDIS, then this paragraph would be irrevalent. However if not, I would choose a ship with an interior volume of at least that of a good-sized house. At the higher ends I might consider the size of a nuclear submarine or even an aircraft carrier. This is so that would be able to store stuff when needed, have a decent-sized living space that I can walk around in, but not so big that I can become lost in the thing (Which is a very real possibilty, considering how I am.) or that I would be forced to fill up the rest of the ship with absolute junk so it doesn't feel boring or empty. I would most likely travel by myself, with a few visitors. Having said that, I suppose I would take a ship on the larger end just so in the future I might have enough room for other people on board if I so choose while still keeping my privacy.

Finally, someone mentioned parking : a smaller ship can be parked easier than a galaxy-wide ship. (Barring the type of 'parking' that would mean breaking apart whatever you go on.) While an uber-ship would probably have shuttles and/or a transporter like system, it would be nice to land down on a planet and explore, or if you wish to go outside and have a picnic, so to speak.

Yes, the TARIDS is the Doctor's space craft/time machine from Doctor Who.

It stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. Basically that means it's a lot bigger on the inside.

A lot like Jurai ships from Tenchi Muyo!, actually.

I don't know if that is a joke, but a TARDIS is the Police call box from Dr. Who that has some impressive capabilities. It stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, and well, travels through space-time. And it's a heck of a lot bigger inside than it looks outside.

Cyborg Stan made a good point. I would like the kind of ship that he described. I'll need alittle breathing room and space for a few things and friends.

Acclamator size, made of that shiny metal the Naboo ships are, and just generally imperssive. This is because when other people get on and see all the space, I don't want to speed all my time explaining the intricacies of pocket dimensions.

EDIT: On interior dimensions, it would be very large when not having someone outside my circle of friends inside. Construction bays, massive holosuites(One for cartography, one or two for playing RPG's with a whole new level of immersion), gardens and mini-biosystems(Because hey, it's nice to move through a forest sometimes), places for all of my friends, launch bays for when we do want to fly around in something tiny(C'mon, who hasn't wanted to build their favorite sci-fi fighter and flit around in it a bit), not to mention room for all the stuff that makes this ubertech go.

Finally, I'd have an alternate interior, made for when people are visiting. It'd be alot like the real Acclamator, with launch bays for smallcraft.

I smaller ship would probobly be better. I say better in that i looks more inconspicuious. Subtlety seems to be a skill Mr. Tycho seems to lack. On a further note can you drop the animation from your sig It's a bitch to load a page because of it. You've been wanred about your sigs before.

Thanks for the pic, dude. Mine's cuter, though, since it looks like a VW bug. :D

Well, TARDISes do have chamelionic circuits, so they can look like anything (although the Doctor's is broken, so it always looks like a call-box).

Medium. Has to be large enough to live on, but no more.

120 ft long, gold plated, travels 10k lightyrs a second, and with enough firepower to take down an eclipse in seconds, and sheilds that will make a deathstar2 beam just shake the hull a little.

and inside, the ultimate suite.

Just enough room for a cockpit, head, sleeping quarters (with attached shower) and galley.

Not overly well armed but very fast.

The external size has nothing to do with how much space is inside. It can be the size of an atom and have more deck space then the Death Star.

I wouldn't utilize that feature. I prefer having the bulk of the ship firmly grounded in real space.

Now, let's say, due to its uber-tech, both a small ubership and a big ubership would have the same technological, and nearly the same tactical and strategical, capabilities.

Would you want your uber ship to be big or small? And if you want, what size would you want it?

edit: GAAAHH!!! STupid polls!!!
I just want a FMC version of the Mellinium Falcon...

...or a fully-automated ISD, if I feel I need something ridiculously large...

Ok, quark sized then. There will be a teleporter, yes? So you can enter the ship.

Invisibile quark of doom. Nice and compact, impossible to destroy by any means.

Reallly, large...enough to engulf anything smaller than it...which is everything short of all reality.

I don't want trembling, I want worship at the mere hint of me entering your part of the universe!!!!
