Re: Which Clone Wars series do you prefer?

I haven't seen any of the old series episodes, maybe I should check them out? But I really don't mind the new series of SW clone wars that much. It definitely has parts where you can see some of that old George Lucas genius shine through.
There are two things that really bother me though about the new series:
- Incompetent Battle Droids - I don't really mind the complaining/chatter of the droids that much, it sort of made them more interesting characters as they recognized the pointlessness of trying to fight Jedi
But there are these scenes that show the droids as actually incompetent for the jobs that they were DESIGNED for. There was a scene where a droid was specifically designed to put out fires in the hangar bay, but it wasn't able to keep the fire hose that he was holding from flying all around the room. I guess it was just added for laughs but that kind of thing really drove me crazy.
- Always Happy Ending - There are some really interesting moral dilemmas in the new series, like when Asoka attempted to sacrifice herself to blow up the droid factory or when Asoka's friend was taken over by the parasites and Asoka had to kill her to save the clone medical station, but you ALWAYS know that the story is going to end up with a happy ending. Main characters will always live, and though one or two good guys may die, it always turns out for the best for the good guys. Also, they made Boba Fett completely unable to function as a bounty hunter... I guess that's necessary for it to be a Cartoon Network show though...
