Fucking Sony. After the Xbox controller sucked at least MS stole all the best ideas from the Dreamcast controller.
Now the Dreamcast controller was pretty nice, although I mainly used it for Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue, so I don't know how it felt in some more frantic game genres.
Pretty good, though with heavy use on long Soul Calibur the buttons were small and quite uncomfortable.

Personally I'm thinking of using one of my paychecks towards the Bannco FRAGnStein, one of the only "mouse + nunchuk-style" PS3 controllers, as on Amazon it's the one that's got the best customer review average (# of stars) and number of customer reviews other than the FragFX v.2, but unfortunately it's mixed... apparently FRAGnStein has a "dead zone" at least in MW2 which screws over small-enough movements and it has crap out-of-the-box firmware, but if you can find updated firmware (apparently a challenge), and especially if you can combine it with this thing called the "XIM" (which runs for about $90 on average), they're awesome. On the other hand, apparently Splitfish (the Frag FX maker) has a reputation for poor durability of their products... *chin rub*

Trade-offs, why must you escape the world of video game guns and intrude on the real world? :banghead:

The fragnstein seems kind of pointless given the Playstation move controller coming out in a month.

While the FRAGnStein is just a mouse-and-nunchuk "splitting up" of the basic Dual Shock 3, I expect that not all FPS games will have PlayStation Move compatibility, from the get-go or retroactively. I admittedly also concede that I have no idea what this "XIM" thing is that some of the reviews talk about, other than it being expensive as hell but basically needed for best performance with the FRAGnStein (i.e. tweaking sensitivity and dead zone); the "you'll pretty much need your PS3 next to your PC" one of those reviews mentioned isn't a problem, they're physically close in proximity anyway.
