Did they ever name the Dark Jedi that Yoda killed? It seems to me that this would be a good way to kill off Dooku.

No since the books description say that the dark jedi was bpfashii or something along those lines

Of course since the movies override the books, GL can always change it so that it is Dooku.

I wish you'd be right but the VicStar is rejected concept art so Uncle George will just fuck with continuity and bring the olde ImpStar back (which is still fine with me)

Did they ever state, in a canon source, Dooku's homeworld? If not, it could easily be Dooku. Although Dooku isn't exactly insane.

Dooku is Count of Serenno. This isn't in any of the movies, but every source gives Serenno as Dooku's homeworld.

Count Dooku's homeworld is Sorenno.

Yeah, and this Dark Jedi was definitely insane.

Furthermore, I doubt there'd be a contradiction. The only thing Zahn explained was how the Dark Side cave was created--by the death of the mad Dark Jedi. It took place before the Clone Wars by most recent estimates, and just explains how the Dark Side cave was made and how Yoda learned of Dagobah. When in Ep. III he needs somewhere to hide, he'll remember the nullifying affect of the nearby Dark Side cave and the remoteness of Dagobah and decide to go there.

Since the Dark Jedi doesn't sound like he is anything like Dooku and recent estimates place it back before the Clone Wars, its doubtful that the two stories will interfere.

Well, even IF GL pisses all over continuity and makes it Dooku, they can always then claim that Serenno is his adopted homeworld or something, and he was actually born on Bpfash.

In ESB when Luke is on Dagobah he says "...there's something familiar about this place". This suggests that he was briefly hidden on Dagobah as a baby before Kenobi took him to Tatooine.
