Stripper maybe. A prostitute would never wear something that made her stand out to law enforcement that much. :D

The swimsuit possibly causes her enemies to be distracted by the sexy, though.

It was never going to translate well and be the same outfit- superhero costumes never do. A little work, red boots (without high heels) and less plastic look and it could work.

The design of the suit isn't bad and is recognizably Wonder Woman. That said, the shininess and the materials used are terrible. It looks like a bondage suit, or a cheap plastic Halloween costume.

The show's probably going to be terrible. Reviews of the first draft of the script and as well as an actress's audition tape (where she reads a scene from that same script) were leaked about a month ago.

Overall it looks like a goofy bastardization with the character being altered into some kind of Ally MacBeal imitation. This WW will work in a corporation that makes money selling big breasted dolls of herself, dance and sing to pop songs, have ice cream sleepovers with her BFF, and cry herself to sleep at night over Steve Trevor (who has dumped her according to the backstory). I'm predicting that it will flop as hard as The Cape.

There's also this:
"... she attempts to take down an evil pharmaceutical company run by morally corrupt scientist Veronica Cale, who is mass-producing a human-growth hormone that is causing its users, mostly black inner city youth, to die."
Whoever wrote this has failed economics forever. Beside the fact that the FDA will slam down on their asses for this, I'm pretty sure a pill that deliberately kills its users isn't going to make a lot of profit.

OK, this is more like it. At least she’ll look good in her civilian persona.

Oh, and by the way Bug-Eyed Earl, after seeing these photos I'm beginning to think you're totally right about the breasts thing. I still think the costume they eventually settle in shouldn’t draw too much attention to the fact though.

Well, as a fan of Greg Rucka's run, I'm kinda hoping they don't fuck up Veronica Cale.

Better but they should also tone down the plastic look of her top. Plus her belt screams "I'm made of cheap plastic!"

Funny enough, in the first pic looks like an action figure. :)

ToplessRobot

They changed the costume due to Internet Bitching, picture is available on Topless Robot.

Among the changes:
* Fixed the boots, they are now red, and are normal boots, not high heels
* NO MORE PVC PANTS - they appear to be more satin-type material, and the gold stars are more visible I find.

Overall, they fixed my only real complaints from the previous costume

This silences my bitching about the heels and the fact that her wondies are plastic. I wonder if they're still going with the evil pharmaceutical company plot, though.

Well, it's what Greg Rucka did during his run in the early 2000's. Granted the company itself wasn't evil -- just Veronica Cale -- so we'll see how it goes.

I rather liked the character of Veronica Cale, but she only works as a female Lex Luthor who is jealous of Wonder Woman, not as some sort of poisoner of everybody.

Ah. Well, I'm not the most familiar with Wonder Woman. I honestly prefer the Huntress. Digging around for old Birds of Prey issues for a while.

Their take of Veronica Cale is symptomatic of how they just don't get the core concept of Wonder Woman. To me, Wonder Woman can be described as a simple X meets Y scenario.

The West Wing meets Ray Harryhausen.

With the entire scenario they've proposed, it's quite apparent that they had an original superheroine storyline in the works and slapped the Wonder Woman name on it for recognition.

Because it's not like there's been any recent super hero tv shows that didn't use established super heroes, right?

There have been two recent shows that use original superheroes.

One of them bombed completely (The Cape), and it's final episode won't even be shown on television. Not exactly encouraging results.
