I don't think any distance has ever been given. There simply isn't any indication of where the Tetra galaxy is relative to our own, except that it's apparently reachable by privately owned starships.Batman wrote:So how far away is the Tetra galaxy?

Fragment of the Lord of Nightmares, release thy heavenly retribution. Blade of cold, black nothingness: become my power, become my body. Together, let us walk the path of destruction and smash even the souls of the Gods! RAGNA BLADE!

Re: Galactic Federation (Metroid) vs. Galactic Empire
I would take some of this with a grain of salt, I mean for all their power Samus' beams and missiles don't exactly blow chunks of ice from Phandera Drifts apart either. There are also enemies that cannot be defeated no matter how much energy you put into them unless you hit their weak point, does that mean they are literally invulnerable except for that spot or type of weapon? Keep in mind, even in the Prime series, a ton of what you see is just reflective of game mechanics.ChosenOne54 wrote:Batman wrote: That would be the logical conclusion if we were talking about something happening in the real world. Unfortunately, we're talking about a computer game series. So, actual numbers on ship firepower?Well, all we know is that they ramp up pretty quickly.Which, unfortunately, doesn't tell us much of anything other than ship weapons can hurt targets hand weapons can not.
Basic fighters and capital ships/frigates are totally unharmed by hand weapons (which have a couple kilotons of punch behind them).
Capital ships, are pretty much unharmed by fighters.
A GF Frigate got one-shotted by a Space Pirate Destroyer, but the Olympus (the GF’s biggest ship) took relatively little damage from extended bombardments from multiple Destroyers and they have a decent rate of fire too.
Then the GF’s orbatial defense system wiped out the Leviathan (that tanked the firepower of an entire fleet) in a single shot, and it was a continuous beam.

Wouldn't it be easier to make comparisons of ground fighting capability between similar numbers of troops? Since almost all Metroid stuff is about fights on planets, there should be a lot more stuff you can use for comparisons. Obviously, you can't say how good the GF would do in a ground war, since we don't have any troop numbers, but you might be able to say how good a squad of their infantry would do against infantry from another sci-fi universe. Don't some Metroid games have multiplayer with "GF marines?"
