Gee, Pat Robertson sure looks persecuted, eh? Jerks. :x

My uncle's like that. You should have seen the fit he threw when he heard about the 9th Circuit Court ruling against the Pledge of Allegance. "I think they need a history lesson!" "We all have to cater to the one or two atheists* in this country!" I have to live with this. Help me. The only thing I agree with him on is the social cancer that is political correctness. Fucking bleeding hearts.
Gah. Help me. ...Suffocating...

It's like the South is stuck behind the rest of the country 40 years civil rights-wise or something. Hell, in some places, it's illegal to posess a vibrator, right?

As for the donkey-fucking part, how do they have so many kids if they do so? I sure wish they did fuck donkeys, so they would have died out ages ago.

Not to appear like a moron, but where does the "donkey-fucker" label come from, and how much does it make sense?

Thank Greg Burnett, aka CmdrWilkens for this. It seems that he started it, and it got popularized in ASVS, and this board asorbed it from there.

http://www.daltonator.net/fuq/search.ph ... key+fucker

Remember, you can also put it is as (excuse my spelling) Cronium-Acidente-Carbon-Potassium, Sulphur-Molybledum-Potassium-Iodine-Nitrogen-Germanium-Minus-Electron, Deutriem-Oxygen-Nitrogen-Potassium-Electron-Yttrium, Flourine-Uranium-Carbon-Potassium-Electron-Rubidium-Minus-Boron.

EDIT : Noticed the misspelling of Boron right after I posted.

It is easy to explain, they fuck their wife during 3 months of the year, and the donkey during the 9 months she is pregnant.

It's funny considering you wouldn't have to worry about birth control when she was pregnant.

*shrug* Forty years behind in civil rights, a century behind in economical development. Per capita income in Georgia before the Civil War was highest in 1860. After the Civil War, per capita income (adjusted for inflation) remained below pre-War levels until the mid 1960s. The rest of the Deep South was roughly the same. I think a lot of the anger/anti-intellectual backlash in the South comes from a subconscious hatred of the North, bred through the oppression that occurred after the war ended. The South is still the weakest portion of America economically, and there is still resentment over the treatment of the South after the end of the war, justified or not.
Stanley Hauerwas wrote:[W]hy is it that no one is angry at the inequality of income in this country? I mean, the inequality of income is unbelievable. Unbelievable. Why isn’t that ever an issue of politics? Because you don’t live in a democracy. You live in a plutocracy. Money rules.

While I'm largely ignorant of the specific ins and outs of the great multitude of Christian denominations, I don't believe Protestants in general, and hence the majority of Christian Southeners, have a problem with contraception.

Not contraception per se, but they do have a problem with sex for the sake of pure, unadulterated pleasure. For example, in three southern states, vibrators are illegal, and possession is punishable with fines and even prison terms.

He's right.

It fucking infects every thought in America it seems. That if every sex act doesn't have incredible spiritual enlightening joy, it will immediately transform you into a crack whore and contribute to the decline of society.

It seems I have underestimated fundamentalist hypocrisy.

I hear in some states that have sodomy laws define sodomy as both sex for non-procreation purposes as well as any position where a partner isn't facing the other.

I'm kind of old-fashioned myself. I'd never have sex with someone I didn't love. I guess I'm one of the only people in my generation that still thinks sex means something on a higher level.

It all depends on the person. You can't say that someone is a bad person for enjoying sex and having it with many different partners (though you can say he is a moron if he doesn't practice safe sex), nor does a person who "saves himself for marriage" or something similar hold any kind of moral high ground. It's a completely personal choice.

Why do they bother with anti-sodomy laws anyway? It's a victimless crime, and besdies, the government screws you from behind all the time. They say it contributes to the "moral decay" of society, but so what? They defined morality, and it's not like something really bad is going to happen if we don't accept their standards.

those figures almost certainly dont account for the slaves either... well... actually they did count -- as property for the slaveowners.
