They work okay, but they use up vast amounts of land. A handful are operating or being built with I think the highest output planned for any one installation is 100 MW. Solar thermal is nice also because if we ever get a good enough heat storage matrix we can heat them up during the day and run them at night, and they can be adapted to also burn fossil fuel during night and bad weather so they aren't rendered completely useless.
