On the subject of Creationism in school, I went to Catholic school from Yr 2 to Yr 10, and I don't remember Creationism ever getting a look in, even in RE. It CERTAINLY would never have snuck into Science (They wouldn't dare. Teacher's would strike, newspapers would ridicule them, and the parents would tear them a new arsehole). There was a fair bit of telling you that working out your own morals for yourself was akin to Satanism, and before you knew it you would be drinking the hot blood of new-borns, but no mention I can remember of Creationism.
