Hmm... how would this have played out in the US... The door would still be broken, I suspect. The memes removed more diligently (it is policy to remove anything that is not pre-approved. Free speech indeed). No Champagne. No Golden Wrench. University admins here have no sense of humor or self awareness to do the Golden Wrench.

The door would likely just get "Please use other door" posted on it. And then nothing would happen to it until someone got really bored and tried spraying some WD40 into the hinges. If that didn't work, whatever.

Anyone caught posting these papers would be suspended or punished for creating a hazard by deliberately blocking visibility of an exit door. Regardless of whether it even worked or not in the first place.

That said, it depends on the school. Some are more laid-back than others, especially smaller or private schools. My wife's college, a private school in Tennessee, would probably have let something like this go a few days and then the door would be fixed and the signs taken down and nobody would care all that much. Certainly wouldn't be champagne...
