SC2 is coming out for everything with special characters for each platform. The X-Box ones are just different costumes for some comic book character, I think.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

Both, it seems, will be cross console franchises. Both are from idenpendent developers so I don't see them jumping in bed with any one platform exclusively. Both have the fans to do it.I think their are rumors of the Metal Gear series in coming back to the big N. Soul Caliber 2 is their too,
Microsoft released the controler with the "s" option... a smaller controler for america, not that that little bit of information might pursued you differently, but there it is. Ive had two PS2s now, and both of them have gotten DREs ( disk read errors ) over time. Personaly, i think you should go with the GBASP, or a PC... and if you're darring.... a wonderswan! The one thing the XBox had going for me personally was the large controller. It's tough to go back and play the NES with it's smaller controllers. After that though, I don't see much reason to get, except I love consoles and want to get as many of them as I can. I played Halo, and when compared to virtually any other big name FPS out there, it sucks. However, even the controllers almost identical layout to the Dreamcasts (one of the best out there people.) I could never pick it up on a demo and play. Not worth a shit anyways.
I think you missed my post. I LIKED the larger controller because I have large hands and i can actually have cramps on the smaller more cumbersome controllers. My Genesis 6 button controller is tough to use after a short while due to this fact. I have a GBA and I enjoy it far more than the GBC because of it's orientation. I usually only played my GBC in the carpool to work, and after the ride I'd be stretching my hands. That's what dissappoints me about the SP and a main reason why I am not getting one.aphexmonster wrote: Microsoft released the controler with the "s" option... a smaller controler for america, not that that little bit of information might pursued you differently, but there it is. Only because they revamped everything after they found what others wanted. Amazing what guiniea pigging a game on another platform will do for developers. Spiderman being better is highly debatable. What about NFS on the next gens? Yup, PS2 owns that catagory. (Even if it's a crap game to begin with) How can you say Midnight Club 2 is better, if I'm not mistaken, not only is it online for both systems, it's not even out yet!!!SPOOFE wrote:Halo, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Morrowind, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Splinter Cell, Unreal Championship, MechAssault... and let's not forget that every single game that is cross-platform ALWAYS winds up better on the Xbox, such as Silent Hill 2, Spiderman, Midnight Club 2, Max Payne, Hitman 2...
Ignorant more like it. It's obvious the only game they've played. Probably just picked it up at the store on the demo level and couldn't handle it. I played for a few hours at a friends house and at the end, when I standing over a pile of thier dead pixelated bodies, I was satisfied that game sucked ass. Splinter Cell, though, is thoroughly bad ass. However, it's hitting the PS2.Bottom line: People who say that the only good game on Xbox is Halo... are just plain dishonest, or ignorant.
Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA Vice City, both of which are on the computer, but then again, who wants to fuck with the computer, when you can simply toss a disc in and actually play your game? You sir are being the ignorant one now. Auto Modellista, Gran Turismo 3 A Spec and the Moto GP series for the racing fans like myself, not to mention Burnout, and it's sequel. God what a rush. How about Zone of the Enders, and Zone of the Enders Second Runner? Forgot about those titles eh? How about the underated game Stuntman, talk about kick ass. Did someone forget to mention it's backwardly compatible? I'm like CT17 at SB.com, Colony Wars baby lives!!! Plus take the two Oddworld games on the PS1 and put em against the Oddworld title on XBox. Wow, those people turned pre madonna and fucked that game up.What does PS2 have? Hmm... Vice City. And that's out on PC. Frankly, there's no reason to buy a PS2, in my opinion.
Furthermore... I LOVE the Xbox controller. Maybe I'm just one of those freaks of nature that has average-sized hands, but I HATE having to scrunch my hands right up next to each other, holding a dinky little controller in my fingertips. I LOVE the fact that the Xbox controller fits snugly into my palms... it feels far more comfortable and relaxed.
The hardware? Built-in hard drive... essentially, $2000 worth of memory cards, for free. Built-in network card... along with the BEST online console gaming out of any of the three consoles.
Less complex graphics architecture, meaning that it's simpler to program for...
PS2 game designers have pretty much reached their limit in how much they can pump out of the PS2 (compare GTA: VC to the recent release The Getaway... the latter has better graphics, but sacrifices view distance in the process).
Niether has the PS2 or the Gamecube. A statement like that is just ludicrous. Unless your a programmer that has sat down and pushed the other two to thier limits and can adversely say with a fact that you could not even come close to that on the Xbox, your just blowing smoke. Say your not an Advertising Marketer for Xbox are you?The Xbox, conversely, has barely even tapped its potential.
Sorry, but I don't like to make short-sighted purchases.
There aren't many PS1 games that interest me
-- aside from Silent Hill
And the Xbox just has a greater future ahead of it (Fable! KOTOR! Doom 3!),
rather than promises of more GTA (that'll just be ported to PC six months after their release anyway)
That's your opinion, they're highly impressive to me. I hate fucking around with all the systems anyways. Where's my FFI NES cartridge!!!and another glut of Final Fantasy games that do nothing but make me feel depressed over how far Squaresoft has fallen since the days of FF6...
I don't need to choose, I have both (and a Gamecube too)Trytostaydead wrote:Xbox or Ps2? Xbox or Ps2?Xbox or Ps2? Xbox or Ps2?Xbox or Ps2? Xbox or Ps2?Xbox or Ps2? Xbox or Ps2?Xbox or Ps2? Long live DC and all of segas glory!Don't you diss my beloved DC
Hehe, yeah, my friends behind me right now whinning about how the x-box controler is too big xD He didn't like the DC controler either, personaly i thought it was comfertable. I haven't really played around on the x-box too much, but i dont mind its titles. That's what I said! Why did they make the 's' controller? Were there that many KIDS crying about the size. Maybe that's why the Dreamcast really went down, the controller. The two are almost identical.
Thats Bass dipshit, with the Treble adapter. If im not mistaken thats from Megaman and Bass.Cal Wright wrote:LoL! Yeah, loved the large controller, btw, what's that Avatar, It fucking rocks. Looks like a Mega Man character.
You're only compounding the problem by blowing onto the heads which increases oxidation. You may as well get a new connector (I can't recall where to get them, but they're cheap and easy to install).Pu-239 wrote:Consoles suck. Get a PC.
Then again, the newest console I have is a semi-working original NES which you have to constantly blow the dirt out of for about half an hour to get working, and a 266Mhz 96MB RAM PII.
Most multi-platform games are released at around the same time (like Spiderman). Or are you claiming that Microsoft is clairvoyant?Only because they revamped everything after they found what others wanted. Amazing what guiniea pigging a game on another platform will do for developers.
... Stripped down, graphically.Splinter Cell, though, is thoroughly bad ass. However, it's hitting the PS2.
Me. The added difficulty of installing a game on your computer is infinitesimal compared to the added gains of having better controls, greater customizability, and better graphics.Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA Vice City, both of which are on the computer, but then again, who wants to fuck with the computer, when you can simply toss a disc in and actually play your game?
Then it's not debateable, is it?That would almost be debatable, however Nintendo doesn't give a flying fuck about online gaming, and the Sony isn't interested in a market that doesn't bring in bukoos of dollars.
I never contended otherwise. Graphics shouldn't be the most important part of a game. However, utilized properly, they can make the difference between a "Good Game" and an "Absolutely Incredible Game". Further, the less a designer has to worry about working graphical efficiency into his game, the more time he can spend making more game. That I have never heard. In fact, in EGMs afterthoughts with the head of the Vice City project they were going on that graphics was not thier main goal, but an expansive engrossing game.
... Because I was able to look more than two months ahead at the games list that Xbox is going to have available. But, you bought and XBox...
Ri-i-i-i-ight...Then you must have absolutely no taste in games.
I'm well aware of the library that PS1 has. 95% of the games suck ass. The other 5% are either dated or have been redone better on either PC or other console games. Almost none of the PS1 games have the "classic" appeal of old NES or even SNES console games. The PS1 has the largest library and probably the most versatile selection of genres out there.
Good for you. I don't.First off, I hate games like that, that's right I said it.
Good for you. I am.I was never a huge RPG fan
Clearly you have zero experience with GTA ported to PC. It works wonderfully. And won't work worth half a damn.
What about it? I didn't mention it. I have zero interest in playing it. The Star Wars console games (excluding JK2, but that was a PC game originally) have been very disappointing. You keep crying about how GTA has gone to the computer. What about Star Wars Starfighter, it's on Ps2 XBox, and PC!!!
Calm the fuck down, you primate. I "pimped" Splinter Cell? By mentioning it off-hand? Criminy, get a grip on reality. That Splinter Cell game you mentioned, no that you PIMPED, is coming on on *gasp* PS2 and PC!!! HOLY SHIT, talk about taking a piss in your wheaties dude.
Where did I claim that PS2 "only" has Grand Theft Auto? Learn to read, simpleton. The PS2 only has Grand Theft Auto? Whose being the dishonest/ignorant one now?
