For some reason, that brought an image of exploding toilets all over the enterprise into my mind...

And for some reason,
that idea gives me a mental image of Picard ordering the

What, exploding toilets and Alice Kriege's vagina aren't high-concept enough for you?

I have this image too in my mind "computer whats wrong with this toilet" 1 second later Riker is covered with shit and piss water.

Data spits out bullshit through his mouth-I think it's termed technobabble.

Exploding toilets don't phase me. I don't care about vaginas and have no idea who Kriege is (I do well to remember characters' names; the actors' names are almost impossible fo me to remember). I am just about immune to sexual perversion and toilet humor.
But this:
But for now, I think the consensus is, yes -- if people still crap in Star Trek, Data is probably spawnin' brown trout right along with 'em.
And I'm guessing that, like the rest of the outside of him, his poop-chute is probably also synthetic material. Ick. Did I have to type that, really?
Even you admitted that this is ... I am at a loss for words.

Well, Data has to power himself somehow. And nowhere in the series that I can remember do we ever have episodes dealing with him having to be plugged in for power, or episodes dealing with something going wrong with his technobabble power plant (both of which would've been episodes the writers would've jumped on if it was available to them.) So he has to get his energy from somewhere.
It's not entirely unreasonable to assume that he can process it out of organic matter (possibly by refining out combustible hydrocarbon chains and burning them to provide energy to power his electrical systems, or refining out hydrogen and using it to power his electrical systems directly via compact fuel-cell.)
And such reactions would leave behind some sort of organic sludge. So, as a result, Data probably shits and shits often.

I thought in Star Trek: Insurrection Data said his power cells recharge themselves?

Trying to understand that line makes my head hurt.

I doubt he eats enough to power his systems though

There's a possible explanation for that statement. There's technology in Seiko watches right now that can <technobabble> your movements into electricity to recharge the watch's battery.
It could be that, between charging his batteries through his own movement (which would only reduce the rate of power drain) and his metabolism, his power cells are always recharged.

FADE IN: INT. OFFICERS' LOUNGE -- NIGHT
Data and Troi are sitting next to each other on a couch. Behind them the warp field can be seen through panoramic windows.
Riker stands at the replicator.
TROI: So, Data, what do you --
(growling sound)
DATA (looks embarrassed)
TROI:
Data!
DATA: (contrite) My apologies, Counselor. Commander Riker recommended an old Earth dish called, "Onion Soup." I found it to my liking. I believe I may have consumed more than I initially intended.
RIKER: (laughing uncontrollably)
(growling sound, this time much LOUDER)
TROI: (fans air away from her face)
Data! (jumps up from couch)
RIKER: (doubles over with laughter)

However YOU are powering the watch, the watch is not powering itself.

No metabolism is mentioned in ST:1. Unless it's a 100% efficient system (impossible) it doesn't work.

Why would he need to? Untill Generations he was emotionless and as such had no need for self gratification. The only exception being when he porked Yar.

I wouldn't call that a demonstration of self-gratification, either. More like "takin' one for the team"...

Well, right, yes. I know that. But a kinetic charging system might help Data
conserve electricity, mightn't it?

Well, that's true as well -- but we determined that, based on his poisoning by drink in "Datalore" that somehow what he ingests can interact with his operation. He also mentioned (I think it was in "Hero Worship") that he occasionally requires nutrients in order to "lubricate his biofunctions". So more than likely, he does have a rudimentary digestive system.

No. He is applying the electromotive force to move his arms and legs in the first place; any energy harvested from a passive collection system like that would apply a drag force and make him use more energy in the first place.

Data breathes to "maintain thermal control" and is "capable of functioning for extended periods in a vacuum."
I could swear he said in some episode that he ingested some technobabble cocktail as fuel, but I can't remember what episode it was.

I remember that too. It looked like the taster cup at a Frozen Yogurt shop, except the material was dark.
Here is another low. If Data is "fully funtional" is he circumcised? Does he get dingleberries?
