And why the heck are people talking about CGI goddamit? Mayhew has been cast for the role for fuck's sake. Don't people click on links anymore?
I thought Sabacc was an EU creation?Baron Mordo wrote:Next thing you know, Lucas is going to write a scene where Anakin loses a sabbac match to a young Lando Calrissian.
Kenobi also seems not to know R2-D2 in the OT too, and we never really know what Chewie is saying or hell, what they even said in the Cantina.Robert Treder wrote:What the hell role will Chewie play? I don't get it...he can't know of Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan can't know of him, or the cantina scene won't make sense.
All Obi-wan says in ANH is he doesn't seem to remember ever OWNING a droid. He never says he doesn't remembeer R2. As for Chewie:anarchistbunny wrote:Kenobi also seems not to know R2-D2 in the OT too, and we never really know what Chewie is saying or hell, what they even said in the Cantina.Robert Treder wrote:What the hell role will Chewie play? That would be very cool to see. But I doubt we'll be going far enough in where the Emperor is free to do something like that with no resistance from the senate. Actually, no, he could easily make something up, so I guess it IS possible.Ted C wrote:I wonder if we'll see the Imperial crackdown on Kashyyk in which Chewbacca becomes a slave...
The chances of Lucas adhereing to EU, let alone GBG, is slim to none, I mean, hell. One of the few things I think he actually used from EU was the name Coruscant if I remember correctly.Darth Pounder wrote:IIRC Games Storylines can count as cannon. Well according to Galactic Battle Grounds Qui Gon helped a very young Chewie and his dad set up a colony world and indeed pat of the story was that Obi Wan was involved. Maybe thats why Obi Wan approaches Chewie in the 1st place, they have experience. Maybe?
Lucas used the word Coruscant in the original script or novel or something.Captain_Cyran wrote:The chances of Lucas adhereing to EU, let alone GBG, is slim to none, I mean, hell. One of the few things I think he actually used from EU was the name Coruscant if I remember correctly.
Chewie can interact with Yoda, Mace, Wookie senators, Dex, Jar-Jar (hopefully violently), Count Dooku, Palpatine, a lot of people.Darth Garden Gnome wrote: I don't know how he can interact with any of the major characters though. Is it common knowledge that Anakin is Vader? If so, than you'd think Chewie would have said something about it in the OT.
If Chewie is 200 years old and will appear in Episode III, he'd definitely know about the Jedi and would probably admire Kenobi. That might be the reason why he and Kenobi spoke with each other.Akm72 wrote:If Chewie didn't know Kenobi, you'd sorta expect him to back off pretty quick after seeing the old man slice and dice those two thugs, rather than taking him to Solo.

THAT'S where I got it confused from.starwars.com wrote:Coruscant finds its roots in the early draft scripts of Star Wars, when the heart of the Imperial capital world was to be explored in a number of scenes. In this early incarnation, the planet is the gaseous world of Alderaan, and the Imperial capital rests atop a floating city suspended among the cumulus clouds.
But he'd also know the Jedi were wiped out, if he didn't know Kenobi personally he'd have no reason to trust him.IRG CommandoJoe wrote: If Chewie is 200 years old and will appear in Episode III, he'd definitely know about the Jedi and would probably admire Kenobi. Yeah, I can understand getting confused from that...It's Coruscant, Alderaan, and Cloud City all mixed up into one.IRG CommandoJoe wrote:AHA!

The way he handled the thugs with his lightsaber probably convinced him he was a Jedi. NTM, wasn't he wearing Jedi robes?Akm72 wrote: But he'd also know the Jedi were wiped out, if he didn't know Kenobi personally he'd have no reason to trust him.
