Are you sure i`ve heard only pilots would have guns.Rubberanvil wrote:Also the stewards are armed which denies the would-be hijackers easy targets to torture in order to force the pilots to obey their commands.Shinova wrote:The answer is what Israel did: make separate food storage, and bathroom for the cockpit. Right now, the US is going for locks on the cockpit doors but then there's no bathroom or food inside the cockpit, making it a problem for the pilots.

Guns in a plane is a rather poor idea. Something like a taser would work.

So would guns, in the hands of trained pilots (many of whom have military experience anyway).HemlockGrey wrote:Guns in a plane is a rather poor idea. Something like a taser would work.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Nope, Tazers are exactly what you don't want. They have limited range, you only get one shot, and the aim is shit, plus they're not anywhere as effective at putting people down as a bullet. If you have multiple hijackers you're screwed, and when you miss a hijacker from the crappy aim, yup, you're screwed. A decent semi-automatic pistol is good for 15 shots and they're accurate enough for a trained person to put shots wherever he wants. With a pistol I can consistently hit a popcan from across my living room all day, with a Tazer you'll be lucky to get hits within a foot of the popcan.HemlockGrey wrote:Guns in a plane is a rather poor idea. Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

Yes, I've heard of those, I was just about to bring them up. They're supposed to dissolve when they hit something hard like the airplane hull. Of course, there's probably some problem in using them somewhere along the line, as there seems to be with just about everything.Sir Sirius wrote:You could always use Glaser Safety slugs, thats what they were developed for.
