It seems to me that you're looking for a conspiracy where there is none. Everything the Ferengi said makes perfect sense. The burdon of proof lies on you.

That's the beauty of the Feringi's government being a Alliance no one really works for the government. If they had succeeded would not the Feringi Alliance have insisted on their cut of the profits?

Back on topic how could 6 Feringi take over the Fderation's Flagship and finest ship and crew? The very idea is ludicris!

This would have been a GOOD episode, had it been on Voyager, but TNG; what the hell happened?

Another thing about this episode: Little Picard and Riker acted like they were father and son to fool the Ferengi. At one point Picard slips up and calls Riker 'number one' out of habit and then tries to cover it up with "he's my number one dad'

I was thinking, 'Um Picard, how many dads do you have?'

You have a point but the fact he clarified almost gave it away too! The Feringi didn't seem to notice and he then drew attention to the mistake making it worse!
