America's going to get nuked by a probe?

Isn't it interesting how it's perfectly habitable later?

They had the chance to do something really interesting with Enterprise, but managed to completely piss it away before the mid-point of the first season! Do they honestly expect to turn the corner with this tired, seen-it-all-before space war bullshit? WTF is this show still in business for?

Remember guys, this is an entirely new thing for startrek. Never before have we seen a threat to earths future like this borg, i mean, xindi invasion. when picard, i mean archer, blows the probe up and time travels to save montana, i mean the US, everything will be OK.

What kind of first strike is that? I mean hitting the Carribean in an attempt to nuke a fully industrialized target, that's as if the Chinese started a nuclear assault with an attack against Punxatawnee (35 souls), Idaho...

all B&B need to do now is make it so smoke and flame can exist in the vacuum of space.

and another thing! Daedelus class starships from the 'future' (earth-romulan war) weren't equipped with pho-torps yet! where the fuck are these ones coming from?

So you say Bunnies&Burrows, or someone on their team, has now started to watch pre-B&B TNG/TOS episodes

(If only to rip them off for new old plot ideas natch. :? , they do it not for continuity checking, I can tell you that much  .)
No. I mean they are going back and reusing plots from Enterprise. Their own show.

That is all.
Ohh, man...*gathers self*

I know some guys are turned off by her silicone-looking lips, but Jolene does it for me. That's not to say a Vulcanstrutting around in a catsuit makes any sense, though...

Somewhat off-topic but not really deserving its own thread, in "Progenitor," Malcolm Reed says a phase cannon has "a maximum output of 80 gigajoules."

In "Silent Enemy," he claimed each cannon had a "maximum firepower of 500 gigajoules." (They were only able to damage the enemy ship after they ramped that up by a factor of ten.)

What is WITH that guy? He can't even get the units for firepower right, but now their weapons are far weaker?

That's stupid. Based on the NX-01's asteroid-shattering in "Singularity," I figured a 500 GW cannon, or 1 TW fwd. firepower, would be about right, since some of the asteroids were pretty damn big (about 200m wide). It would also be nice from the standpoint of physics: the weapon's output actually matchesits effects.

Now, though, depending on how one reconciles that stupid fucking contradiction, phase cannons ARE basically phasers. So Pike and Kirk's early use of lasers, or Worf's comment that phasers are a 22nd century invention, are pissed all over.

I am one of the VERY few people holding out for ENT because I love Star Trek. I know thing because I do love it, I should go and piss on ENT, just as it pisses all over itself.

Posbi wrote:Allright, okay, who the hell are the Xindi?
Damn good question.

The article says that the "Xindi" attack because, 400 years in the future (around 2552), "Earth" forces will destroy the Xindi homeworld.

What the hell gives here? Archer's ship can reach their territory from Earth in fairly short order, so it'd be in a Picard-era Federation's front LAWN. It'd probably be in their blooming house under the kitchen cabinet!

The photorp thing I could ALMOST swallow, though that stands in opposition to what Spock said about the Earth-Romulan War being fought with nuclear weapons. But this distance thing...that's simply too much.

Or not enough, as the case may be.

I think B&B idea would work better in TNG era. That way contunity wouldn't be screwed!

And, thinking logically, the only way that the atomisation of the East coast of America could possibily fit in with continuity anywhere else is by... its complete removal by a big magic reset button, most likely involving a bit of action by the time-cops.

Damn them.

I just had this odd idea, what if the rest of the series focuses on Enterprise traveling to the Xindi homeworld and at the end of the series, they have a prologue that Enterprise finally arrives at the Xindi homeworld, 400 years after it was sent (sans Archer and them of course)?

The question still remains: They have the means to send stuff through time, but they can't even aim at a bloody continent???

And even more so, if this is such a powerful weapon, why only one of them? As it does obviously hit - which means there are most likely no/nada/zilch defenses around Earth - why not send a squadron and end this misery by failing to hit any continent on the planet?

posbi, read the fucking article. the entirety of north AND CENTRAL america will be vaped, not just the caribean. They dont literally mean just between florida and venezuela or whatever, theyre just giving you an idea of how huge it'll be. Christ man.

Reading the article, it does not specifically say that, just some reference to "epic" explosions and a "swath of destruction across N and S America" .
The only "obliteration" is stated to be between Florida and Venezuela.
But arguing over angels on pins aside, this is all bullshit; here we are, 2 years into the 1st ever warp 5 starship's mission, and the BEST they can come up with is the "war story" . Now, let me think......was that done before, oh yeah, some series called DS9!
Aside also from the minor nit that vaping N or S America would kill the effing planet (T-K impactor energy levels?) ....
Nuts.
This is the end
Season 3 will be the last
:(

I did read the fucking article, and it did say "everything between florida and venezuela", and guess what, that sounds pretty much like the centre of destruction, and hey, what's there? Right, there's nothing except warm water and a couple of shitty and totally unimportant isles. Surely the most logical target for a WMD.

And that still doesn't explain why there's only one of them...

Wow, if North America is completely destroyed, guess how fucked the rest of the world is from that blast. Holy shit, B&B killed Earth!

And photon torpedoes? WHERE ARE THE NUKES?!
