Writing a fanfic gives you the oppertunity to piss all over continunuity (sp) no doubt i'll be unkknowingly doing a B&B when i get round to my ST vs WH40K fanfic.

That would explain how ST ships can actually damage ISD's

Fanfic convention to stop it being a one-sided slaughter (think of it as play balancing in a game), you could write them as they should be, but that takes some real skill to pull off successfully, or you need to make it a character piece with the action purely ancillery.

Sovereign, this is a fucking FANFIC. It's wholly separate from actual continuity. According to the Fanfic, Anakin Solo becomes a new Emperor, and rebuilds the Imperial military forces. According to the NJO, Anakin Solo is currently dead.

Mike's fanfic is not based around any particular point in the established SW universe. Rather, Mike created his own point in the timeline for both universes, and explored the problem from there.

One last point to raise here, it's not the fanfic he quoted in the first post, it's the second paragraph on the Front page of the SD.net site. And though the fanfic deals with the invasion of the Alpha Quad by an Imperial force with a start point reminiscent of that of the site (Anakin Skywalker-Solo becomes Emperor), it handle the matter completely differently by 'play balancing' the forces as is the normal Fanfic convention.
The site however uses no such 'play balancing', giving the cold hard truth of such an encounter as described by analysing the canon materials, and is only associated to the Fanfic in that both are written by the same person.

Trying to discredit the site, by trying to claim it's not 'canon' is a novel approach, if completely retarded!

Now that's a cruel one-sided slaughter if I ever saw one...

A one-sided slaughter is not very spectacular to read. But there is the problem. Trek-ships simply look like mosquitos against Star Wars ships. Hell, they couldn't even make a dent in the shields.

Reminds me somehow of this picture, were the Executor rams the Enterprise which harmlessly explodes against the shilds, wthout even noticing the small ship..

Dath Vader breaks for nobody...
