They make fun of both of those in the Ranma 1/2 manga.

Such as the Koi rod. It has a suction cup on the end, and if you snag someone with it, they start falling in love with you. When the mark grows into the shape of a Koi, their feelings grow into permanent love.

Then came the "Bust Battle," a short tiff between Ranma and Akane regarding the fact that while Akane's breasts had recently gotten bigger, Ranma-chan's did also, so he's still bigger than her in his female form.
