The X-Box controller could be better, but I like the one that comes with the X-Box. Mad Catz ones are way to sensitive.
They should just remove the big X and replace it with a screen. Then they could make portable Halo. A sort of "Super Mega Ultra Uber Cool Gameboy"

Have you ever tried lugging an X-Box around? No one is that stupid. My friends and I have a running joke that the X-Box controller is a deadly weapon and the X-Box itself makes for decent body armor.

Ignorance showing here, but how did the 32X piss off so many loyal fans? It was similar to the PS2. You can play both new and old games on it, but new games only work on 32X.

True... one of mine broke so i started using it as a morning star... as i was swinging it i accidently clocked my little brother with it in the head. Almost knocked him out since that thing weighs about 40 pounds

I love the original X-Box controller, its a MAN'S controller. If you are Japanese, or a little kid, or a man with excessivly small hands, get the "Controller S", ya pussy. Otherwise, that big beefy thing is GREAT! It seems clunky at first, but once you play Halo using it for more than say, 30 seconds, you realize how good it is. The only problem is that now, games aren't made for the original, everyone wants the pussy-fyed "Controller S".... pisses me off, but oh well. When my X-Box died, the new one came with a "Controller S". I use it when necessary, but I still tend to revert to one of my three original controller.

The reason it pissed off so many fans is the fact that Sega didn't make that many games for it and dumped it very quickly leaving everyone who bought it with 200 hundred dollars less in their pockets. Not only that most people thought it was sega's next system and when sega anounced the Saturn just 6 months later that sent most people over the edge thus leading most of their fan base to give them the finger.

My wife plays games too and she doesn't have big hands like me. She has a hard time using it since it is a "mans controller"

So they essentially over-saturated the market? Bloody Sega... they had a good thing going and blew it.

I have. I just put the system and games in the box, and the controllers in a plastic bag.

The button layout is still horrible.

They sure did blow it. At the time the Genesis was out selling the snes 3 to 1 and during christmas time it was outselling the snes 10 to 1. See the problem is that sega was rolling is so much money that they wanted to do to many things at one time. That lead to their down fall.
Fun Facts: Alot of people will tell you that SNES sold more systems thus winning the 16 bit wars. The fact of the matter is the SNES did sell more systems than the Genesis...after sega had left the 16 bit market to focus on the 32 bit market. Nintendo kept producing and selling the SNES well into the N64 era... 3 years after sega had quit.

Really? I'd have guessed that the X-box weighs as much as a PC--hardly portable.

It's actually surprisingly light. One of my friends also put it in the box, tied some sort of belt around it, and made himself a handle. I can easily lift it with one hand.

Hard Drive, I think. I bought it when it first came out, but according to MS<they fixed a bunch of problems (including mine) and updated the design like 4 months after I bought the thing. Mine was just defective, i guess

Geez. You'd think that a console would free from hard drive issues that can plague a PC owner, but apparently not.

1. An X-Box is basically a shitty PC.
2. It is made by Microsoft.

the "man's controller" thing was partly a private joke (*still laughs at the time in question*). And you are most certainly correct that men aren't the only ones who play games. I know quite a few women gamers (they all lean towards PC (which r0x0rz more than... anything), but I can drag them over to a X-Box LAN sometimes). I personally liked how the button layout went with a lot of the early games, but when Controller S was released, it all went downhill. Now I can't find any new games that are made to use my beloved big controller

. A bunch of people complained, so they disontinued production. It seems like common sense to appeal to the bigger group (in this case, people with small hands), but that bit of sense sucks ass when you are part of the smaller group. Oh well, I still have my 3 controllers I can play with, so I can be happy. I just feel bad for those who bought the X-box late and didn't have a chance to try out the original controller...

1. It's better than my PC (HDs that have failed on my X-box? 1 - On my computer? 4 now, and maybe 5 if I can't get my other comp to work...)
2. M$ makes plenty of quality products. Just cause the O/S sucks ass doesn't mean everthing else made by them does. My other X-Box hasn't done anything bad, even the "Dirty Disc" errors that plagued many people in the old version of the X-box (messed with me too, happened a lot when we were using GSTunnel, instead of paying 50 bucks for X-box live =[] )

Maybe, but the X-box is still based on Microsoft...er, software, which certainly doesn't help.
I still use my Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick for X-wing and TIE Fighter, and it hasn't broken down, so I can't argue with you about the existance of Microsoft products that aren't shit.

Xbox is based on the Win 2k kernel, but besides that, its original stuff...

That game is cool, but I liked the original
X-Wing and
Tie Fighter. They are sadly too old to be sold in stores (you have to E-Mail Lucasarts customer service to even find a link to buy X-Wing, and I don't want to buy Tie Fighter from them because every link you click, the info changes on the game), but not old enough to be abandonware (free, old warez).

You mean the original as in the DOS versions? I bought the Collector Series set, which included the expansions. The last time I checked, it was still in stores. *shrugs*

I have (had) the collector series too (in fact, I still have the box for X-Wing), which included the expansions. I have looked in stores, I can't find it anywhere... *shrugs*

Microsoft does make good stuff. My Wireless Optical Mouse blue has been working almost non-stop for a year, and hasn't broken down yet. Personally, I prefer any Win OS to any Mac OS. I haven't tried Linux yet.

MS OPerating Systems are good because they are easy. Not anyone can install linux, but any fucknut can pop in a Win XP cd and furiously click next!
As far as mouses go (i really don't think "mice" is a good term for pieces of shaped plastic with balls in them), I bought 2 MS INtellimouse Explorers, they both died within 4 months. THe first time I think it was because some dumbass tried to connect his mouse to a spare USB port on my comp, confusing the hell out of it (I was getting "found new hardware" windows for weeks). After that, the mouse would randomly shut off. I mean, it would just SHUT OFF. no light, no movement, nothing. It happened with the first mouse, so I brought it to Wal-Mart (I don't think I bought it there, but what the hell) and got it exchanged for another. It did the same thing.
Other than that, MS products have worked for me.
