No, unfortunately I think that she's goin' with Kyp. After all, she would be a heck of a peace offering. Her union with Kyp would be a concrete symbol of a Jedi Order that had gotten past its petty squabbles and was now ready to kick some YV ass, instead of running away whenever they see the slightest hint of a bio-ship.

I don't know, I got the impression from recent events in the series that Luke finally has Kyp under control, and although Jaina may have forgiven Kyp partially for not telling her about the true nature of the Jedi offensive against the Vong worldship in Rebirth, I don't think she'll ever forgive him completely. In any case, Destiny's Way is supposed to reveal the fates of both of the twins, so we'll have an answer soon enough.

Excellent. Destiny's Way. But don't you think they've set her up as the perfect object to be handed over in exchange for peace? The fact that Luke and Kyp finally kissed and made up indicates to me that they are setting her up to be the gift.

I suppose that's possible, but I don't think Jaina would be very happy with the decision. Poor Jaina, this is twice she's been set up for a political marriage, first to a guy who wanted to marry her mother, and now to Kyp...

Hmmm... Well, what's she gonna marry for? Love?
Yeah, I guess she could go off and marry Jag (actually, she doesn't need to marry him, if you know what I mean

), but I don't think that's where they're going with this. I know it sucks, but I think all the stars are aligning themselves for a cop-out. Incidentally, in having her marry Kyp, they would also be removing her best attribute, which has been her strength and refusal to become mainstreamed like her brothers into stupid little Force philosophies. If she was a guy, I would say that it would be emasculating her but.... she's not. Oh well.

She'll go with Jag, and it will help the Repbulic or whatever they go by now unite with the Chiss. There. boo yah. Fuck the NJO I have the problems already solved.

Actually I think we're generally ignoring a few simple facts.
1.) Kyp Durron is a KJA character. As is Zekk (Young Jedi Knights.) This alone is enough to merit them for death.
2.) Since the KJA debacle, we've seen trends of other EU others consistently attempting to "correct" the damage he's done to the EU- most notably Stackpole and Zahn. Getting Mara away from Lando, getting rid of Daala, getting rid of Qwi, etc...
3.) Generally speaking, Kyp is long overdue for a serious killing. I'm praying that the EU authors are plotting something suitably horrible. Then at last the final, terrible blemish of the KJA cancer will be expunged.

Except they aren't allowed to kill him. Hence why Anakin bought it instead. Denning said in the interview that "Kyp was a very lucky man".
Maybe he'll bite it in the future, but I doubt it.

I am new to the EU and haven't familiarized myself with KJA's work yet; can someone explain to me what's so bad about his additions to the EU? I'm just asking out of curiosity.

He is the only SW writer who I have considered consistently weak. Stackpole has his books (many of which are actually quite good--he's just inconsistent), Kathy Tyers is only okay, but KJA repeatedly ignores canon material in pursuit of a story. Here's a link to an article written in parody of him:

It is very funny, because it is all true. He never presents moral dillemas. He never does anything but build superweapons. He never watches the movie. He never crafts deep and interesting characters. His stories are simplistic. His writing style is decent, but because his characters tend to be weak and one-dimensional the stories lose their interest rapidly, and he never writes on any sort of symbollic level, whatsoever. There are some other problems, too, but those are the ones he has most often.

My favorite KJA antic is how he overturned 6 issues of Jedi vs Sith for a single short story in Gamer that came out literally 3 weeks befor the last issue of JvsS.
He screwed over a bunch of people and alot of effort to write an utterly crap story. (Bane goes from apprentice to full blown Master in a day, just by using that holocron. Sure  )

I don't think Janson wants to. Remember what he said about that in Rebel Stand?

Um...what? Jacen is no longer in the grasp of the YV. In Traitor he and Vergere escape to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting galaxy (or something along those lines).

I don't really know what's going on with Vergere. Perhaps she even has another layer of character that has not yet been revealed.

True. Vergere is a tough one to understand. Even after reading Traitor I'm still not sure what side she's on.

Yes, she was a Jedi during the time of the terrible book Rogue Planet. Her species appears to live longer than humans do.

I'm not sure what happens to Vergere, but Jacen is back with the New Republic (or the new Rebel Alliance, if that's what you want to call it) in
Ylesia.

Sorry I was just going for sick and remote, besides what would SW be without incest jokes.
