Phillipines and the other islands were hit on the same day as Pearl Harbor in fact McArthur had scrambled his bombers to hit Formosa but because of cloud cover they were forced back...which was bad luck since the Jap planes caught them refuleing on the ground

The Philippines where bombed the same day as Pearl harbor, December 8th, there on the other side of the international date line. Wake was bombed on the 7th with the first invasion attempt on the 11th, Midway was shelled on the 7th, Guam was bombed on the 7th and invaded on the 10th. The US would be at war at the same time regardless.

Victory is inevitable. The United States had half the world's industrial potential and historically didn't even need to fully mobilize it. Japan had 3%, German about 15% and it captured a few percent more.

No, he just launched a couple B-17's for reconnaissance. The USAAF commander was basically begging for permission to launch his aircraft on a bombing mission but it was refused. The planes that where caught refueling where part of the CAP that had been launched when word of Pearl Harbor being attacked arrived.

McArthur's handling of the entire situation was incompetent and he should have been relived of command the next day. The PT boats that hauled his ass out should have been sued to haul more corpsmen and radiomen out, specialists who could actually do their jobs.
