Right, the Fleet that was hiding out behind Endor.
Even though you're playing devils advocate, I'll hammer you into the ground anyway.

one uses "," to seperate the differate place values not ".": "." denotes a decimal which means the empire only has 25 ISDs[/nitpick] though Ill bet you just missed typed.

Stravo: when I first saw the movie, it didn't even cross my mind to think of how big the fleet was, or if all of it was at Endor. I just kind of veiwed it without thinking about over much.

In French notation, one thousand and one-hundredth would be rendered as "1.000,01" rather than "1,000.01". In that context, it is correct to write twenty-five thousands as "25.000".

That's a regional thing. Some countries use the "." for thousands, and the "," for the decimals. In school I was told to use a space for thousands and a "," for decimals.

From what I understand, Palpatine set up a system where the people under him would be constantly fighting amongst themselves for his favour, power and influence - thus eliminating any potental threat to his rule. Divide and conquer.

However, this system didn't acknowledge his taking a long fall down a deep shaft, and the top-ranking officals, having no clear line of succession, degenerated into a factional war (making the Alliance's job much easier ...)

This brings up another point I was about to ask; Did Palpatine intend to live and rule forever (through clones or what-not) or just hand over the empire to Vader on his deathbed?

Pretty much planned to rule forever.

It could be thought he needed Skywalker to create a fresh line and or needed to have a better batch of clones.

How is that even possible? I mean if his genitals were in the lava the most of him should have been in it too, and I believe that would kill him(bathing in lava).

Now if you had said he lost them in a horrible smelting accident.....

If Lucas doesn't break with EU like he did with AotC's Death Star plans. Vader was completely submerged in lava at the conclusion of a duel with Ben Kenobi. Kenobi thought him deaad but this wasn't the case. His strength in the Force allowed him to remove himself and survive but he he now needs the breathing equipment. I believe it has now been foreshadowed when Anakin said something to the effect of "I'll even learn to prevent people from dying." Much like Kenobi's "Why do I feel you'll be the death of me."

Psst, the Death Star plans first appear in a book set between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

Don't worry about the EU, they can clean up anything Lucas fumbles
