Actually the Battlegroup would have been wasted by the Scimitar. I did an estimate on how much damage the Scimitar recieved from the Enterprise and at one point the Enterprise had more then a minutes worth of time to attack the Scimitar without a cloak. There is no reason to hold back in such a time period, yet the Scimitar ended this time period with 70% shields.

Given how quickly the Scimitar could knock out the Enterprises shields, it could effectively destroy any single Fed ship in a single volley and repeat the manuever.

Watching it do it would've been really fun. No such luck I'm afraid, though for all it's faults Nemesis did have the best TNG movie battle ever (not much competition).

Incorrect. If the Enterprise shields are weakened in certain quarters, then the Scimitar can force the Enterprise to manuever in such a way that denies Scimitar line-of-sight to that shield arc... and such manuevering may not be conducive to throwing all possible firepower at the Scimitar.

There is also the distinct possibility that the Enterprise may have taken damage by that point that undercut the maximum firepower of the ship.

And if the other ships knew the potential danger of the Scimitar, one of them may attempt to ram the Scimitar before allowing it to escape.

(Why did Shinzon not simply open fire when the Enterprise started advancing on Scimitar?)

Too bad they didnt' think of how cool a big fight like that would be: it's the same way they fucked up First Contact.

I'm sure if asked they would blame it on the budget, just like they did with Generations.

The scene in question the Enterprise fired a full frontal torpedo volley then started running away from the Scimitar, presenting all aft torpedo launchers. Anything the ship had left it was allowed to fire, however....

This is certainly true. Remember Schinzon targeted weapons and shields immediately after taking out the Warp Core. And of course the ship, lacking its warp core, steadily lost power throughout the battle: Impressive initial phaser spread, a few paltry shots by the end. Only torpedos were still fully functional (They require less power to fire, or they were given priority or something) and they should only be a little more effective than the heavy phasers the E-E carries
It would have made my day to see the E-E fire a full volley like the first one into the Scimitar And it would have hurt!! So yes, the E-E was weaker than it could have been.

The Enterprise would have been very hard to destroy in time. It had no warp core, the Scimitar would have had to fire through the saucer and into the engineering hull before the antimatter tanks were hit. By then it would have been so close that the explosion would have hurt really badly anyway.
