Eh, I had two guys give me 100,000 each. Seems to be pretty standard. What I mean is that I'm finally starting to figure out how to earn my own. If only I wouldn't keep getting killed.

There's websites detailing the best ways to make money by trading. Here.

As for getting killed, just get a fast ship, and learn to roll+strafe (press "e" and "a" by default), and to use boost effectively (TAB). A manuverable ship with a medium engine and a fast-charging battery works for me. It also depends what color (erm, race) you are. Gold has the best trading ship, Blue has a good attack ship, and Red has...something else.

Well, I should be back into the game tomorrow--went to Japan for a few days

Practise fighting against bots first, after a while you should be able to get to a level where you can down the bots in your home backyard (1 step out of home sector) with the free ship.

Me, I map w and s to vertical strafe so I can strafe in all 4 directions in battle. If you can only strafe left and right you are going to get hit no matter what

I play for DAYS as Hotfoot [SD.net] on blue, and worked my butt off to make some starting cash.

A friend of mine comes by, I make a new account for him, and somehow he gets $3,000,000!!

Needless to say, I'll be using that account from now on, so look for Knighthawk.

As soon as I get my new controller, I'm gonna start playing this game. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it this weekend.

A mouse works pretty well with this game too...
