A CD-Key is a way of distinguishing legitimate copies from illegal ones. If Blizzard handed them out to anyone who asked, there would be nothing to stop people with pirated copies of the game from getting one and hopping onto Battle.net.

If you haven't realize the program extract the cd key from *your* disc. It is an legitimate copy if your disc is dumbass

It extract the cd key that you used to install the game. If he used a legitimate cd key then it should work on b.net.

I wasn't giving him a cd key generator but I guess some people are too dumb to read these days

The CD-Key is on the manual of my WC3 Version. The
NWN expansion pack is even worse - just a sheet of red
paper with the key on i.
