That isn't what the MICO Sadako documentary and Sadako.org had to say about it.verilon wrote:And yes, Sadako's classmates folded the rest of her cranes.
No proof her cancer was caused by the bombing, only a statistical chance.Trytostaydead wrote:
No, she was a victim. She had nothing to do with the war, unless you count that the sins of the father be passed on she was a complete innocent, a victim of war.
He just burned some pieces of paper. It would be different if this was a tomb, but to my knowledge nobody is interred there, and unless that's demonstrated otherwise, I'd have to say he's just an average scumbag arsonist who chose a really badly dramatic target, not someone who's particularly disgusting in any way--tomb desecrators fall into that category.Stormbringer wrote:I'm all for burning this fucker at stake. It'd serve him right.
The proper thing to do in Japan when you fail like that is to commit suicide--what's really outrageous is that he took it out on others rather than removing his sorry ass from the gene-pool on his own, which does show how much of a scum-bag he is, contextually.Lord Pounder wrote:The worst punishment would be to post his picture on a few advertisement boards in Japan with a commentary on what he did. He should be slapped silly for being a prick. People fail every day, christ knows i have, i got on with it. I didn't piss and moan then act like a spoilt child.
May we speak the next time you are on AIM?innerbrat wrote:"Lets not bicker and argue over who killed who". The point is, that no matter how she died or why, her memorial is symbolic of all the victims of the bombings, just as Anne Frank is symbolic of al the victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
Now, I may be being a heartless grave-robbing archaeologist here, but why exactly is desecrating a memorial any more disgusting than interring a tomb? The real victim is, as always, the people to whom the memorial or tomb sas special significance to, not someone who's dead already.
She was a victim of her own government's aggression. No, she was a victim. She had nothing to do with the war, unless you count that the sins of the father be passed on she was a complete innocent, a victim of war.
