I'm a move-learner/abuser. In any given Soulcalibur2 game, I'll have characters I know very well, and others I only know two or three moves for. It is with these characters I am most move-abusive bordering on button mashy.

I never button smash. I learn all the moves properly for each character in the game Except VF4... I am still working on that one.

LOL his is my character. Took me a full month of hardcore playing to just get Good with him but it was so damn rewarding. It is fun as hell to beat the crap out of people with him

Yes it is...mostly because he's ugly to learn but rewarding.
For me haven't devoted much to VF4...because SC2.
So far in SC2 relativly mastered Nightmare, Link(evil cheesy SOB), Taki, and Mitsarugi.
One day will go back to VF4:Evo...fun single player game.

Yeah link is full of Cheese. he is great though. SC2 is fun but not much has change from SC1. If you remember most of the characters moves from SC then you pretty much already have 80% of the moves list down. Either way all your base belong to Astaroth

Amusing story: I worked in an arcade once, back when it was SF2 and the original Mortal Kombat. I would watch the kids play and learn the moves. I would then step up to the game and proceed to beat several of them.
It's quite rewarding to be able to walk up to a video game surrounded by guys, put your quarter(s)/token(s) up and surprise the FUCK out of them when they suddenly realize they just got SKUNKED by a girl.

Some of my proudest moments.

Well, I haven't really played SC2 yet, but I have everyone mastered in SC. My favorites are Taki (also loved her in SB), Xiangha (or however you spell her name!), Kilik and Hwang.

Thats cool, i like to see girls play fighting games. It is so rare... well where i live anyway. My wife is good a SC though. Other than her i only played against one really great female Streetfighter 2 player and that was in Las Vegas. It was a ST2 turbo tourny and i beat her to move to the championship round only to lose and get second place. Tell you though when I was playing her i was real nervous and i don't know why.

LOL...gotta love that Kel. Always, and I mean always love the look on guys face when they lose to a girl. Most are just flabbergasted.
For me...my big one were honestly SF2:Turbo(Vega...many, many, many local tourneys getting first place and ripping Ryu's and Ken's butt)
CVS2(not one...mostly because I despised Ryu and he was supreme in that game): Team of Sagat, Blanka, Vega(did a lot of anime and local tourneys...got around 4th for a couple national.)
SC2: so far only a couple anime tourneys(mostly because of time)...Astaroth is cool...but I just give it more to either Cervantes(an oldie but goodie I use to cheap a character very hard...I can juggle for around 55-60% in a parry combo) or Nightmare.
KOF(variety years)
94- never played in arcade against people...liked Japan team
95- Terry, Rugal/Iori/Kyo, Heidern...ah many a unhappy face wehn I destroy a team with only character left.
96- Terry, Krauser, Iori
97- Terry, Iori, Kyo
98- Terry, Iori, Yamazaki
Past then basically stopped since I didn't care for the extra stuff...
And yes...I'm a bastard in game(mostly because I learn how to combo more then simple 1-2 hits...I want to show off

). Though I will admit I have never gloated and rather enjoy competition novice or expert, male or female(and nope to a great dismay of some friends I didn't let the hot girl win).

Darkstalkers 3 is my favorite 2D fighter followed closely by Streetfighter Alpha 2. I love chain combo systems.
As for 3D VF and the SC series are tops. VF because it has the deepest fighting system ever and SC because of the awesome character design and playablity. For SC it is Astaroth and lizard man for me. I have actually made Astaroth the most hated character in my gaming community and i am the only person who uses him. For VF it is of course Akira and Vanessa...

Ah Darkstalkers...very very vast systems of combos and counters. Too bad never had a machine beyond DS1.
I mostly played Bishamon for all three.
And pretty much the same feeling of VF and SC that you have creech.
My only problem with Tekken is I've found for Tekken 1 waaaaaaaaaaay too many 100% EASY combos.
Tekken 2...Heihachi/Paul/Kazuya were way too outlandish.
Tekken 3 Paul/Heihachi had easy 100% less then a second counter DEATH combos(I literally could kill some with Paul in .89 sec). Jin was ugly as well.
Tekken 4...weird gameplay...but Paul and Kazuya ruled the dashing.
For me while VF wasn't as flashy...I also didn't encounter immediate death either.

I like Tekken but it is to easy for button smashers to get away with shit. I have seen a button smasher beat a hardcore tekken veteran... that crap would never happen in VF. Its fighting system is miles wide and inches deep.
Bishamon is most excellent. I used him and John Talbain, sasqautch(sp), Anakras(sp again). Actually i could play them all perfectly but those were my favorites. I still have my DS3 import for my Saturn...mmmm i think i am going to have to bust that out.

Pretty much why I prefer it. Tekken does have some depth...but by then it's called Frame reading(basically learning which moves have low...LOW frame rates). And honestly still doesn't stop people from learning that once you counter correctly...the match is over unless the other side 200%(I know...I've seen a couple counter combos of mine kill a 150% person)

Ah Sasquatch...I used him a lot in DS1. Used Taliban just to play a rush monster attacking style...very nice speedy character.
I stuck with Bishy...mostly because I like what things I can combo with the sword.
*sniff* I missthe Saturn(basically how I play KOF95-97...then I used the DC for the other years)

It varies, with X-Men Children of the Atom, I was always Omega Red, and usually I didn't buttom mash, unless I was losing, I pulled off wins against opponents that were 2 or 3 times more life then me. Other games, like Tekkon I'm a straight button masher.

Yeah... the greatest system nobody played. Really though it was only for hardcore gamers and that is what what killed it... still i would take it and a handful of its best games over most other systems. KOF i didn't play very much because the fighting system revolved around special move combo's and not enough button combos. I think i did play 96' alot. I used Joe hagashi, Leona, and Ryo. Samurai showdown 2 was SNK's latest and greatest.

Merciless Button Masher. I always seem to manage to get the character's Uber Mega-Death Triple-Spoot Hadoken O' DooM to fire at least once in a match too...
Then I go back to Quake 3...

Yeah, KOF was more combo in moves...well earlier. Later on a lot of absurd countering and basically a very specfic combo window.
For my SAmurai Shodown fix I have a friend who owns SS2 for the Neo-Geo(cart system)...oh how I whuped with Jubei.
And for the Saturn...GUARDIAN HEROES!!!
The hours and nights I spent on that game.

And yes...his auto dodge is ugly...especially in a complete counter game.

Button Learner and non-teacher. I simply "know" where the buttons are and for the life of me I cannot tell someone what button to push. I have to show them without looking at the controller.
And I am GOD at Soul Blade. I am behind the times since I only own a PS1, but I will kick anyone's ass with Li Long and the Twin Thunder!

Mostly a button masher, fighting games don't interest me long enough for me to start learning fancy moves and combos.
