We've all seen redshirts fight... I think the only argument you'll get on this thread is on how long it takes the tyranids to chew up the alpha quadrant.
My experience has been that two things are a Tyranid's biggest enemies: artillery and rapid-fire long range weapons. The Feddies (and their opponents) seem to have neither. The Klingons, with their love of hand-to-hand weapons, will die the fastest. The Borg are not an alpha quadrant power, but given their lack of KE shielding they too will fall to the Swarm. It also means those pestilential shapechanging founders will be wiped out as well: I doubt they can imitate Tyranid pheremones and they sure can't pretend to be part of the hive mind.

Interestingly enough, you can't use a dark eldar mimic engine to pretend to be a 'nid ship. (or a necron one) so the founders have no chance of sucess.

Tyranids and 'Stealers first appeared in Rogue Trader. The game 40k was born out of. They weren't rlated back then though.Typhonis 1 wrote:One ;last thing Tyranids have been around since 1987 in W40k how long has Starcraft been around?
They weren't the defined force they became eventually though, It was largely Advanced Space Crusade that set them up to invade the product line.
