Apparently the USN has surged all seaworthey ships from Norfolk to sea to get out of the way. Including the Ronald Reagan. I didn't even know she was ready for sea as yet.
Oh well. Shows you what I know
I still see that TV Christian guy hasn't been able to turn it back through the power of God as yet. I'm sure if the storm does not harm him he will be seen as divine and if it does, God works in mysterous ways or something...

I do not wish ill will upon the people living in its vicinity, but I must say that if Pat Robertson's studio is wiped from the Earth by what insurance companies classify as an "Act of God", I would laugh my ass off.

"Well...that would explain that general fact how the flightdeck is getting closer and closer to the waterline..."

I'm in full agreement with you there. We've been preparing here in Norfolk. I just spent all night evacuating one of the seedier parts of town where a lot of our drug crime takes place. I'm hoping when it's all over we can somehow refuse to let the shitbags back in.
The winds are starting to pick up, and I may lose power any time now, so I'm signing of for the present.

Yay, no school tomorrow. Too bad power is very unreliable and goes out intermittently, which is obnoxious.
No flooding or anything here.

Damnit why can't I get a break like that? Instead I'll be up at 5am pushing crates of clothing and furniture around JCPenney once again...oh how I love being back to a normal civilian job with "civilian" hours.

I did some temp work for company that takes pictures of kids at the malls. And something like 65 of the stores on the East Coast where closed today to avoid the hurricane. Thats a lot of workers to send home.

Sounds like the rain is getting more serious here in the Middle of Nowhere, PA. It'll be interesting to see if it follows the predicted track or not.

dumbassnear me was sitting on the rocks by the seawall and was washed away out to sea. It pisses me off that the coast guard has to go out and risk their lives to try and save the lives of the stupid.

Well, Delaware got off pretty easy. I'm still waiting to see if work is open tonight though. There's some flooding, trees down, and electricity off in some areas.
Aside from losing power for most of the night, this is all that happened:

Occured around 2 AM. The tree only took out the awning; no damage to the house. Strange thing is that I didn't even hear it hit.
I called my old roommate who now lives in N. Carolina around Raleigh. He told me that they had a hurricane party and that he had been loaded for most of the day. Of course, he's the type of guy who says, "Hey, it's Tuesday; we should drink!" so that's nothing unusual.
Hope everyone else made it through with no problem.

I was highly disappointed, all that happened in here was that power got knocked out at my work for about 3 hours. A few trees lost branches and a couple trees fell over somewhere, it was just basically a thunderstorm that lasted hours. I was hoping for blown over trailer homes and houses loosing their roofs and all I get is rain.
