Are you seriously suggesting that Iraq's decrepit forces were a threat to any other country in the region, who were *not* subject to crippling economic and military sanctions?SPOOFE wrote: What about the superpower's allies in the region? Or do you think we should just ignore all our mutual-defense treaties?

Skimmer is right, Sadam has proved to be quite stupid quite it comes to handling his military. Otherwise both the first Gulf War and Second Gulf War would not have happend or if they did American casulties would have been much higher.Sea Skimmer wrote:He's proved pretty fucking stupid when it comes to wars.Iraq wouldn't be stupid enough to attack Kuwait again...Hussein is many things; an idiot is not one of them.
Remember this is a guy who had a pretty decent arsenal and ended up fighting a war of attrition against the Iranians. He simply has no understanding of how to use his forces. To steal a phrase from Sadam, he is the mother of all underestimators.

Indeed. If that were the case NZ would have invaded Australia years ago for the theft of various Rugby trophies.BoredShirtless wrote:Because he wanted other nations on board. (although many of these reasons I have in mind might be morally justified but not legally justified)

Korea was not a war that the US, or anyone else {except the Korea's} committed their full strength to. As such its not a favorable example. The balance of the cold war was the Inter German Border, not KoreaTraceroute wrote:That, and the last Korean war wasn't a clear victory. (Not for lack of trying by our troops). And I still don't see any WMD.
And let's not forget that they are black belts in Taekwondo. (At least South Korean officers are, according to the CNN Presents special on the Korean DMZ. Wouldn't surprise me if NK officers are, as well.)
As to TKD..bah..lets see them do all that kicking wearing boots, combat loads of of ammo, rations, water and packs that are half their body weight after a days combat and a 10 mile march.
