You people and your capships. What I'll do is take the basic A-wing design, add two more engines, devote them to powering the shields and weapons, add a third missile launcher armed with one of them diamond boron things from SOTE, get rid of the swiveling blasters and fill the resulting space with ion cannons. Result, something definitely slower than a TIE Defender, but with good shields, ion cannons, and a diamond boron missile set for proximity blast. Good for taking out entire flights of fighters.

Destroyer Class Capitol ship.
Length: 1050 meters
Width: 456 meters
Height: 200 meters
Hyperdrive: 2.5
Back up Hyperdrive: 13
Armaments: 40 double Turbolasers, 35 laser cannons, 30 concussion missile launchers, 8 heavy Turbolasers, 10 Tractor beams
Squadrons: 2
Shields: Equal to ship twice its size
Armor: 6 meters
Crew: 2,000
Bridge placed in center of the ship, sensors main source of targeting, holographic imaging surrounding bridge giving 360 degree view of battlefield including above ship. Mostly automated ship. Heavy Turbolasers put in locations so enemy ships are almost always in sight of at least two of the heavy Turbolasers. Armor plating covering end of ship protecting engines from fire. Extremely expensive ship, very slow ship, maneuverability of a ship tice its size. Meant for planetary defense. 2,000 ground troops with floating fortresses, AT-AT's, and planetary drop ships, planetary assault vehicles sparingly. (Sorry no scanner so I can't show you what it looks like.)

1 - Take the bridge and put it deep inside the ship. Fuck windows.
2 - Evenly disperse weapons across the hull. There is no good reason for all of the heavy guns to be "on top" of the ship.
3 - Do the engines a bit more like the Executor, where they're not quite all the way at the back and some of the ship "overhangs" them. Just put some of them on "top" and some on the "bottom".
There is a reason the big weapons are clumped together, so that if the enemy ship does get in their sight that ship is gone
, but yes I agree that they should be spread out.

For ASVS take my baseline M-Wing and subtract MDD, change pwoerpalnt and such to SW normal and remove the 2 extra blaster cannons.
For everyone else:
M-Wing Fighter/Bomber
Length: 24m
Width (wing): 19 m
Depth (w/o landing gear): 2.4m
Armament: 2 wing mounted balster cannons
2 forward centerline mounted Ion cannons
1 dorsal (forward) mounted Dennia Quadlaser
8 external hardpoints (dual rail) for Advanced CM
[3 per wing and 2 on centerline]
Notes: This is a 2/3 crew fighter/bomber desigend to operate with a pilot and a weapons technician plus, possibly, a gunner. The three crewmembers sit in a front to back alignment with the gunner situated between the pilot and weapons tech in a Dennia Quad half mounted into the cockpit area. The weapons tech also serves as engineer because the reactor space is essentially right behind him. The weapons tech can fire the Dennia remotely but obviously a normal human/sentient is preferable.

Yes, and put some quadlaser cannons on the ship to deal with fighters and proton torpedos

2 side defense turrets (2 kilotons per shot max)
1 hidden ion cannon
1 heavy dorsal turret (3 kilotons per shot max)
4 concussion missile tubes (24 missiles, 20 megatons per missile)
Lower deck: Meditation pool, minituare casino with table and slot machine, office, sitting rooms, entrance lounge, food storage, cargo storage, 2 1-person escape pods
Middle deck: Five staterooms, lounge with bar and sofas, maitenence hatches, bathroom

OOO, this is something i have thought about in the past.
Blade torpedo frigate
Length: 250 meters
Speed: 80 mglt (y-wing speed, fast for a capship, but slower than many small ships)
Weaponry: Four double turbolasers, 10 MF style quadguns, six forward high yield proton torpedo launchers with 8 torps each, and one tractor beam.
Shields: Below average for this size ship.
Cargo: None
Carried craft: One small personal shuttle, escape pods.
Armor: Thick, with extra around the engines.
A roundish ship that has a round nose, a semi-thin body that widens to just before the point of the internal engines. From there it narrows slightly to the back, where the engines protrude. The turbs are at the widest point of the hull, for forward or rear firing. Four quadguns are just aft of this point, with a rear firing arc. Three are just forward of it, and three are midway between it and the nose. The launchers are in the middle of the ship, and the tractor is on the nose, for snaring ships that are trying to run so a barrage of torps can knock them out.
Phi class assault shuttle
Length: 60 meters
Width: 25 meters
Depth: 20 meters
Speed: 100 mglt (x-wing/ Tie speed)
Weaponry: Four forward heavy laser cannons, two forward concussion missile launchers with 8 missiles each, two MF style quadguns (one dorsal, one ventral), one rear double laser cannon.
This ship is designed to decimate fighters and shuttle sized craft, and to be in numbers a significant threat to small to medium cap ships.
AAF (Atmospheric assault fighter)
Length: 12 meters
Atmospheric Speed: Hypersonic
Weaponry: Two forward laser cannons, One forward medium repeating blaster, Two mini concussion missile launchers with five missiles each, two thermal detonator chutes with 10 detonators each.
Shields: Equal to x-wing
This craft is deployed to a planet by a small carrer which carries three total squads, usually two AAFs, an one AAB (carrier and AAB to be designed later). I didn't mean to rip off the Storm's weaponry, but with the minis and the thermals it is similar. This will clear the skies of enemy fighters, cloud cars, and air speeders with its outstanding speed and agility compared to space craft, and power advantage compared to atmospheric craft. Small ground craft and even personnell fall prey to the repeating blaster which depresses up to 60 degrees to strafe, with computer assisted targetting. Larger ground craft can fall prey to the thermal detonatorsbut the largest such as AT-ATs and juggernaughts, as well as ground installations, are taken down by AABs.
I know i have more, but i am running out of time. More will come.

Not my personal ship, but a military one.
Imperial AntiFighter Frigate
It's a ship about Corellian Corvette sized but with about 20-40 light turbolasers cannons and extra space for tibanna gas. Each turbolaser has a gunner clumped together at the front of the ship. The ship is very phallic and is able to fire massive waves of fire at a fighter, but not as effective against larger, better shield ships.

Cpt_Frank wrote:We need an ISD with more heavy weapons which are more equally distributed, so that their fields of fire cover every possible approaching vector.
So I'd add two heavy TL on the hightes surface terrace, and six on the underside, just on the opposite of the standard heavy canons.
Cheap refit for existing ISDs.
Yeah that would be better

by His Divine Shadow
Ship type: ISD-II (modified)
Lenght: 1600meters
Acceleration: 25.000G's(linear, open space)
Crew:
5000 Crewers; 100 Officers; 200 Gunners; 9000 Troopers
Weapons; Unmodified:
8 Octuple HTL turrets(unmodified)
50 Turbolaser cannons(unmodified)
Weapons; New & modified:
150 Light turbolaser cannons;
-50 on Dorsal surface
-100 on Ventral surface for better anti-fighter defense.
Modifications include automated targetting, no gunners required.
10 Heavy double HTL Turrets;
-5 turrets even spread out on top of dorsal surface along ships lenght
-5 turrets even spread out on top of Ventral surface along ships lenght
20 Aft Concussion missile launchers
10 Ventral Concussion missile launchers
10 Dorsal Concussion missile launchers
Other modifications:
-Heavier automation produces better effiency and is also heavily shielded from ion cannon bombardement
-Removal of fighter facilities except for one elite squadron of Defenders
-Machine shops built using spare room, equipped with:
--molecular duplicators that can replicate almost all parts on the ship
--elemental furnaces that can take any raw material allows for broken parts to be recycled
--Resource harvesting drones that can chop up asteroids for resources
I sacrifice fighters for the abilitity to maintain the ship almost totally without the need for starbases and such, I keep the regular weapons, I add more punch to the ventral side wich has been known as a weakspot, I also add more SWICS guns(LTL's) and I keep the octuple TL's instead of rearranging them, the broadside punch is important because it is what allows an ISD to breach shields on targets of similar strenghts, spreading this firepower out would make it better for taking on smaller targets, but I merely add 10 smaller HTL turrets instead for that.

Another simple and cheap modification for the ISD:
Add a lid to the hangar made out of thick armor plates.
The lid will always remain shut unless fighters or other craft are launched or re-collected. That way, another vulnerable spot will be removed, so that in the event of a shield failure, no Rebel scum snubfighter can go and fuck around in the hangar bay.

capital ship
take a large capital ship hull, build in a world devastator style molecular furnace and factory, and design it to be able to start with just that, an engine, and a hyperdrive. build your capital ship to fit your need as you go along. Use eclipse style armor, for efficiency, visible stealth, and bad ass intimidation effect. Incorporate planetary strength shield generators into the design if at all possible. Run the ship with katana fleet automation or better.

AAB (Atmospheric Assault Bomber)
Length: 14 meters
Speed: Significantly slower than the AAF
Weapons: 8 heavy bombs, two thermal detonator launchers with 8 detonators each, 8 minicuncussion missiles, four heavy laser cannons, one medium repeating blaster.
Shields: B-wing
Like a bigger more powerful AAF.
PAC (Planetary Assault Carrier)[/i
Length: 350 meters
Weapons: 12 ASF laser cannons
Sheilds: Neb-b
Speed: 60 mglt, 300 kph atmosphere
Hanger: 2 AAF squads, 1 AAB squad
One or two of these will accompany a cruiser or two with some frigates for escort. WHile the frigates hold ships off and the cruisers pound enemy ships/installations, the fighters off of these flatten ground targets.

Slaughter-class frigate
Take the Lancer-class and extend it by one third. Beef up the armor and shields. Use the extra surface space to mount TLs and Ion Cannons. Add to the generator for better speed.
