Anime geeks. Elitist, self-righteous pricks. The kind of people who'll berate casual anime fans as "otaku" and mock them for watching dubs instead of subs. They wear their anime fandom like some cultural badge of honor, oblivious to the fact that they look like uber dorks as a result.
They don't scare me though, they just have my contempt.

All other geeks are pretty much harmless compared to these guys and girls. I don't think they saw 20th c. america as a valid reality in which there consciousness should exist - they loved weapons and whacking each other with them, and told stories about walking around campus with swords at night, and practicing fencing in their dorm halls freaking out people. What was scary was they looked like physically healthy, well-collected individuals too; except they had some very distant, detached look in their eyes.
Hehe. I know a couple of those people. I remember one time when a guy stabbed a girlfriend of mine while trying to mug her, only to find that she was wearing CHAIN MAIL under her cloak. When she pulled out a broadsword, his nerve broke and he just ran.

Oh yes, and chain mail actually saved the hand of a friend of mine when he was in a car accident. A piece of glass (IIRC) slammed into his wrist and the chain mail was utterly wrecked, but he got off with just a tiny scratch. If he hadn't been wearing the sleeve he'd been making, he'd have lost his hand.

Anime geeks would be at their worst at conventions and internet forums, where they assault you with excessive smilies ^_~ ^___^ -_-;;; ^^; (^o^) and talk about "bishies". D&D fanwhores are scary at all times, and are a darker, older breed. I vote Dee and Dee.

Cosplay anime geeks.
There's nothing like a 300 pound 38 year old man wearing a Shinji-kun costume to make me want to sell my eyeballs to a curioshop.

Those aren't geeks, per se, so much as an actual subculture.
They're a subculture within the geek subculture.
A sub-subculture, you could call'em.
*sees written word "Gor", aggression level triples*
They're slime, nothing more and nothing less.

I'm glad you think of some rational people that way.

I hold the highest pride in my utter contempt and hatred for all things Gor. Particularly the philosophy.
It's one thing if a couple into BDSM uses it as a setting for sex fantasies, but the lifestyle? Nope.
Sorry if that offends the morally relativistic among you. Well, actually, no, I'm not sorry. But the point is made.
Since we're hijacking the thread, apparently....
I claim this thread in the name of the Federated Commonwealth!

They are not raped. People out in the real world actually have morals, fucktard. And besides, even if they do take up the lifestyle out in the real world, they have a means to get away legally. There is a lot of difference between the books and real life, you know.
Verilion, with all due respect, you are too optimistic. I would rather not go into the details except to say that you are wrong in this paragraph, and especially in the first sentence.

May I ask how much personal interaction you've had with people of this lifestyle?
I know a victim of the lifestyle. I'm not going to discuss it further in this thread, because it is not a pleasant subject to be dug up in front of some. I am going to politely ask you do the same.
I'm not saying bad shit doesn't happen, but I find it DISGUSTING that someone is going to equate ALL people in that category to nothing more than the slime on the bottom of his shoe, regardless of knowing them or knowing how they act, and quite possibly not even knowing any of them.

Acknowledge the possibility, Verilion, that you could be wrong. And I would ask you please let the thread move away from this topic.

The pity is, I did address the generalization issue in my post.
But this should not be debated here. In fact, I think we should delete all of our posts on the matter, or at least wipe the text out. Let's get back on topic.
The scariest geeks are the Fiver geeks. Violently fanatical, they're like Islamic fundamentalists (in terms of scale).

A Fiver vs. a SCA Beserker? No contest, Fiver's going dooown.
Hell, I could take a few with my new armor!

Give me a good stout quarterstaff and I'll take anything at all the SCA could field.

Full ceremonial plate and greatswords. Not the Heavy Fighter Faux Greatswords. Actual greatswords that some of the smiths in the Society have made.

Fivers and anime fans that don't know what the hell they are talking about.
But for the record, I am a nerd, not a geek.
And I resent the insinuation that I am a revolting pervert simply because I am a fan of Japanese animation. You can go fuck yourself, Prawn.
