The Royal Guard are stormtroopers too. I'm surprised no ones voted for them. There was supposed to be a scene with them in ROTJ, killing an imp officer, but it was cut.

nifty. in that case mark me down for the royal guard. the red armor's simply cool looking. i just wasn't sure whether or not they counted as storm troopers. *s*

They aqppear to have already existed as guardss for the Chancler in TPM. So they just might not be Stormtroopers per se

According to the WEG Imperial Sourcebook, Royal Guards are elite stormtroopers and are recruited from the stormtrooper ranks and serve as stormtroopers when they are not serving as Royal Guards.

The Royal Guard (the guys in red) never appeared in TPM. That was the Senate Guard. The Royal Guard first appeared in AOTC under the name Red Guard and were created by Palpatine.

Superficial and even conceptual similarity between the Supreme Chancellor Red Guards and the Imperial Royal Guard does not in any way influence or change the fact that the Imperial Royal Guard is in fact a detachment of the Marines (the Stormtroopers).

I've always liked the snow troopers.

I've always been a fan of the Swamp Troopers from Jedi Outcast. The helmets and heavy armor made them look almost like Warhammer 40K Marines.

Fear the Shadowtrooper, for he has Force skills and a lightsabre.
